We did a complete kitchen remodel - Mark and Nick made our dream kitchen a reality. It turned out absolutely beautiful, and we couldn't be happier with the outcome.

They do not do decks! We hired them to replace our front wood deck with a composite, we also hired his painter to do our house. We also hired them to replace our back sliding door. We asked him to make the front deck match the back, no big deal we thought. The first few words out of his mouth when we were signing the contract were Addendum. He gave us a quote of$19,500, the contract said 22, talked, and came down to 21. Deck: He starting taking wood off the deck, I asked why. He said because he was only replacing the top deck and not the base. We hired him for a New Deck so why was he planning on keeping 30 plus-year-old wood? Regardless we got our first Addendum. After a couple more addendums we got the base flooring of the deck done. Then he asked us if he could change the color from white to black railing thinking it would match the paint. We said okay. Instead of going to the Trex dealer he went to Home Depot and got us the cheapest rails he could find and screwed them into the top Deck. We were shocked, did not match the back deck at all. If we wanted to match back deck that would be an addendum again. We said no because at this rate we were already near $5,000 over his initial bid. Figured we would either hire someone to re-do railing or figure it out ourselves at a later date to make it look correct. Did I mention that it also took him 3 months to do our deck? Because the deck was wood previously we had at least a one-inch drop around the border of the house, he said it was fine. Few other issues I am fixing because Mark Addendum Man was done and did not want to fix them and did not care anymore. Did I mention I actually had to put the last two railings up because he couldn't find a part. I got it off of amazon. He also put up two different kinds of railings, one crappy (home depot) and one semi-low end for the stairs. The painter - Was awesome, would hire him any day. The poor painter had to come back and fix a few issues that Mark and crew did because they did not fix the bad boards like they said they would before he started painting. Back Sliding door: Was on sale at home depot, like front deck he took the liberty and picked one. When they installed it they scratched up the handler on the outside pretty good. The lock did not work so they fixed it the next day and scratched the inside handle. So now both sides scratched. The slide they got was smaller so the top of the frame does not match the two window framings next two its and they also left a two-inch gap on one of the sides of the frame on the inside. The only positive thing I can say about addendum man is the deck itself is sturdy. The railing is horrible and my slider looks like it has been used with all of the scuff marks on the handle This is not my first deck, we had our back deck done and I would recommend them any day. They were busy. A neighbor had hers done for about $7000 less by a competent company in less than a week for what they were quoted!
Response from Iron Oak Construction, Inc.
"Absolutely floored to get this review. The project was extensive as the house was on a steep lot in El Dorado Hills, and the existing rotted deck encompassed the entire front of your house, as well as a massive triple set of stairs/decks for your entry. The addendum was for the painting of the entire house, and all of the dry rot work of the sides and back of your house that was added to the contract. It has been seven months since we finished the job and transformed your house. Since we have not heard from you, in case you misplaced my number, here it is so that we may address any issues you have. Mark (916)764-6930."

They remodeled the shower, in less than a year the tile is coming loose and the grout is cracking and falling out. When it was 1st done it looked fantastic, but about 6 months later there was cracks in the grout, now there are holes.
Response from Iron Oak Construction, Inc.
"Tile/grout settling on a raised foundation is normal. We would be happy to come out and touch up any grout if we knew anything about it. We tried contacting you today 12/7, as this review from all 5 stars going down to 0.5 is the first time we have heard about it. We will continue to attempt to contact and resolve this issue. - Mark (916)764-6930."

I posted an ad for a complete bathroom remodel and Iron Oak Construction answered the ad quickly. They gave me a fair price estimate and said they can start Monday and be finished by Friday. All other people were trying to make this a 3-4 week remodel. These guys are amazingly fast and hard workers, show up everyday at 7 and worked throughout the day. Friendly and knowledgeable about questions you may have about your upcoming project. If you need your bathroom remodeled for a price that beats all other competitors and want it faster than anyone else can promise, I highly recommend calling these guys. Mark and Nick are wonderful guys who helped me transform my 1970 s bathroom into a beautifully updated masterpiece. I will definitely be using these guys again for my master bathroom remodel coming up

Mark did an amazing job remodeling both of our bathrooms, we are extremely pleased with the final result. Each bathroom took three weeks as scheduled even though he ran into some major issues with dry rot in one of the rooms. They managed to keep the construction mess to a minimum. Mark was very good about making sure that his crew clean up each day by hosing off outside walkways and sweeping up indoors. He was very flexible and worked with us on budget when we ran into the issues I mentioned above. We would highly recommend him for anyone looking for a contractor. Top notch work and a pleasure to do businesses with.
