Nobody Does It Better Quite The Way That Watson Builder Does! Give It Your Best! Question: Who Can You Call? The Answer: Watson Builders! I got involved in a very unhealthy situation with an Unlicensed Contractor who stole thousands of dollars from me and Never Finished The Work, nor Got Anything Written Off by the Senior Inspector from the Department Of Building And Safety. Once I realized that I was Serious and Severely Scammed, I had to do something quick to find myself a California Licensed Contractor who knows what the hell he is doing and has Qualifications, Expertise and Experience. I was very lucky to find Watson Builder through HomeAdvisor and it was Not Easy to find a Good Licensed Contractor. I was so paranoid, but when when I met with Dave Watson for the Very First Time, he just put my mind at ease. I had a very good repertoire with him and felt his Spirit telling ME that he is the Right One For The Job. Dave had No Idea what he was getting himself into because it was a Big Mess since the previous contractor left the place looking like a hell hole, but Dave was determined to Get The Job Done Right and had gone through the whole house with me from one end to the other and he also reviewed the plans as well to make sure that everything comes into place. Honestly, if it were Not for Dave then I am Not sure who I would use because it was very confusing for ME at the beginning, but I had Faith in him and so I just allowed him to Make It Happen with his Magic! Dave so far has been able to get everything that he touches Instead Of Turning To Gold instead "Everything Just Gets Approved"! Dave and his Team just has that Talent and that is something that Not Every Contractor has, but Watson Builder has it and it Shows! Furthermore, this project was supposed to go way past December, but since Dave and his Staff know what the h*** they are doing, the job is projected to be complete by December 1st, 2016. Thank God. I seriously can Not Thank Dave enough for being like a Brother to me that I Never Had and being around for my yelling, screaming, complaining, wining, nagging, gossiping, talking, chatting, etc., etc. Dave is much more than just a Legitimate, Licensed Contractor. Dave is a Friend, a Brother, a Counselor, a Construction Therapist, etc. I mean all of these things in a Good Way... He just has a way of understanding and working with people that Most Contractors Just Do Not Have in their personalities! I would just say that Dave is special and I can Not Forget his brother Andrew as well who also has played a Big Role in the Shore Project as well! Andrew is also very talented and has an Arts and Creative background which spells "Success". He has an eye for just making sure that things look right and are done right and is very detail oriented. Andrew has also been there for me as well and has taken many of my phone calls and I personally can Not forget him for all of the efforts that he has made in making me a Satisfied and Happy Watson Builder Customer despite all of the ups and downs I have gone through during this project. I do Not remember all of his staff members because there were so many, but I do remember "Lana" who was the bookkeeper who called me up on a weekly basis to charge my credit card as the Watson Team was Moving Up The Ladder Step By Step in Getting Everything Done, Completed and Signed Off by the Senior Inspector from the Los Angeles Department Of Building And Safety. Lana is very good at tracking down exactly how much I was paying and how much I was owing and she is also a very well organized person to work with. I honestly do Not write lengthy reviews like this one too often, but when I feel comfortable and confident in somebody's work, then I want the Whole World To Know About It! Furthermore, I was so impressed with their work that I even made several YouTube Videos on their Progress and if You Go On To My YouTube Channel, or Google Me Under: Watson Builder YouTube, then You Can See Some Of The Progress Videos That We Have Made Recently. I just want to say to Dave and Andrew...a Big Thank You and a Big Hug! Watson construction did an amazing job.  Dave and his crew were always on time, cleaned up each day and were always in communication with me.  I had lots of pictures of what I wanted my fireplace to look like and Dave pulled it all together and made it look great! 

 

Once we decided to move forward with the project, Dave and I worked with his architect on the design plans; and, Dave and his architect handled all of the necessary paperwork with the City Planning Department to obtain the necessary permits. (This was a seamless process).  Following is a brief summary of the work that was completed by Mr. Watson, which passed all City inspections with flying colors:

All of the plumbing needs were handled outside of this contract; however, Dave coordinated all the work between the various trades and the City inspections.  All work was completed to my satisfaction, ahead of schedule, and within budget. My family and I are extremely pleased with the work completed by Watson Construction, and I wouldn't hesitate to use Dave again on any future projects (big or small).

Each day, cleaned up and removed trash, at end of job, did a walk through with me and made sure everything was done prior to accepting his check.  Worked very well with us, had some changes during the work and Dave had no problem doing them.  Price was fair, and work was done ahead of estimated time frame.  I have already discussed other projects with him.

Excellent communication: Every step of the way from planning and estimating the scope of the project to getting the final OK from the city, Dave Watson made sure we knew everything that was going on and were completely updated daily. The project was successful because of his professionalism and strong communication skills.
 Talent: Watson's talent for personnel management and his own skills, were put to good use throughout the 6 weeks of the renovation. He managed multiple subcontractors, replaced one vendor when work wasn't being done up to his standards, had zero tolerance for the "quick and dirty" solutions and only accepted "perfection" as his solution. Anything less was unacceptable to him. He truly enjoys his work and it shows when he jumps into the fray and helps hang cabinets, miter corners on trim, makes suggestions for solutions and foresees problems before they happen. He even let us take the first swing of a sledgehammer during demolition!
We took all the copper plumbing out and put in PEX. That entailed plumbers in all rooms of our house putting holes in the walls, running new plumbing, installing a tankless water heater, water softener, new plates on both of our showers, fixtures and then patching the holes, re-plastering and texturing as well as matching paint and painting.
We gutted our kitchen and half-bath and rebuilt it from the studs up. New electrical included a new electrical panel for the entire house. New lighting included eight cans, 2 sconces, 1 ventilation fan with a light and 3 pendants all on dimmers.  The plumbing involved moving a toilet to a new position, transitioning from the old copper the new PEX and setting up 2 sinks, a pot filler and 2 water inlets for the refrigerator and freezer units. We replaced three windows, re-textured to avoid the orange peel texture and repainted the family room, kitchen and bath. New flooring, thresholds and transitions were added. We also knocked a wall to half size to open up the space between the kitchen and family room. All went as close to perfect as possible. 
Our main problem was with the first plumbing company Watson hired. They liked to show up when they felt like it. He didn't tolerate this for long and brought in another plumber to finish the job. It was that kind of attention to service that made us appreciate Dave. His tile installer was a delight, even matching tile corners that we never expected. The attention to detail was amazing.
I have a lot of friends who have remodeled and never finished on time. We were on time and I believe Dave Watson is the reason for that. Some of the subcontractors didn't like working with other subcontractors there but he knew to finish the job on schedule they would have to deal with it so he worked it out with them.
Would I recommend him: absolutely without any question.

He did an excellent job.  He matched a design on a railing to match our porch.  It was amazing he could do it.  He listened very well and gave constructive pointers.  He cleaned up after himself,was very nice & respectful.
