UPHOLSTERY SHOP

The current address is 1088 Redondo Ave, Long Beach, CA 90803, (562) 439-6907 but the old Broadway address is on my invoice so this is the same business. I try to support local businesses but this one is to be avoided. I took two upholstered chairs to him on April 2, 2012, and paid the 50% deposit. I do not have them back as of 12/17/12. As recently as two weeks ago he said they would be done on 12/11 but that date came and went. This is the fourth date in 6 months he has given me as a due date that has come and gone. He no longer returns my calls so I need to stop by his shop to check status. Back when I called him in August he said he meant to deliver them "that day." According to what he said last week, 4 months later, one chair is done and he needs it to match it to the second, unfinished chair, so whatever he said back in August was an out and out lie. I would rather believe that he is too incompetent to manage his work load than that he is OK with lying to me, face to face, but clearly that is what is going on. I see that the recent reviews on Yelp have had the same experience. He may have been good once but, sadly, that is not the case now. My next step is the Better Business Bureau.
