 + -1 moreOverall we had a great experience and I would highly recommend Steve. He is reliable, honest, and hardworking. His only downside is his billing. He does all the work on budget, but the actual invoices are a little unclear. He will verbally describe all of what is included on each invoice, but it is not written out clearly unless you bug him about it. This is a result of him focussing on doing the work, and not being the best business person. Also, Steve can come across as being pessimistic about certain things throughout the project, but don't be bothered by it. This is just him verbalizing his thoughts about what will come up along the way. Once he starts working, he solves all the problems he encounters without problem. The work performed was high quality, without fault. I would rather have quality work and unclear invoices than the other way around.
Description of Work: We added 200 square feet to our 1913 house. It was a historic neighborhood and we needed everything to match the existing style of the house. The remodel included completely re-doing the kitchen, a new bedroom with vaulted ceiling, and a new bathroom, as well as re-plumbing the whole house. Because we added onto the house we also had to build a new structure from the ground up. Steve saves a lot of money over others because he does most of the work himself. He build all foundation forms, does all the plumbing and electrical, all tiling, and finished carpentry. He hired out the demolition, framing, roofing, and drywalling. His custom woodwork on the finished carpentry is great. There is no "out-of-the box" kind of work. Everything was hand-crafted to fit the specific style of our house.
