sink. That work was done about 3 years ago and the area has been uneventful since (which is the desired outcome). Paul called me back and scheduled me for a Saturday (same day) appointment after I contacted him. He was a complete professional and a pleasure to have do the work. He took time to explain how he planned to do the work & gave us our options. His charge was
$300 for the above work which took just under 3 hours. He left the areas serviced in clean condition.
I would use Paul again as he was intelligent and willing to explain what he was doing and why.
I was particularly irked, because another company had recently performed a "plumbing inspection," running water through each drain in the house individually. They explained slow drainage in a shower/ tub in terms of the transition from 1.5" to 2" drain pipes. After our tenants moved in, it rapidly became apparent that a realistic drainage load created by a family of four, e.g. running a washing machine, using a sink, and flushing a toilet at the same time, caused the toilets to bubble and gray water to back up in the tub and shower.
Paul immediately diagnosed the problem as a root infestation (in five distinct places) caused by a Ficus tree on the county-owned median between the sidewalk & the street. He laid out the alternatives (remove the tree--which I subsequently learned would involve requesting a permit from the county and if granted, would be done at my expense, hydro-jetting the clay pipe at periodic intervals & hoping for the best, or re-lining the pipe with epoxy resin). Because we had tenants in the house that needed functional drains ASAP, we chose the latter alternative which was associated with a 50-year warranty (yes, fifty years!) and represented a permanent fix.
Paul worked with me on the price of this job, knocking down the estimate at my request by letting me dig and refill the small trench in the front yard to expose the clay drain pipe (even loaning me the shovel and pick axe to do the work), which I appreciated immensely. He scheduled the pipe relining for the next day (which he subcontracted), and stopped by on several occasions before then to check on my progress and provide advice, and during the job to assure that it was going well. Paul was professional, made a fast and accurate diagnosis, was extremely knowledgeable and accommodated our "need it now" schedule. The work he did to diagnose the problem, build the clean-out and schedule and supervise the pipe relining was excellent. This was an expensive job, but some comparison shopping indicated that we got a very reasonable price.
I highly recommend Integrity Plumbing. They made a bad situation bearable and performed fast, high-quality work at a good price.
