Terrible customer service. Hot tempered proprietor does not want to follow up when work is posing issues. Aggressive and rude, demeanor is my impression based on personal experience.

I can't say enough about my experience. I tried to post this last summer, but apparently it didn't go through. Chris took the time to listen to me over the phone and assess the situation. I wanted to know the cost to install a c-wire. After guiding me to my thermostat (I told him that I had installed them before) we discovered that it was already there and I just needed to re-connect it. Instead of charging me over $200 to come out and do the work, he helped me do it myself. When someone is this honest in his dealings, especially with a female customer, I am definitely likely to use his services when there is a major problem.

I called Chris to see if he could come to fix the c-wire so that I would be able to complete the wifi-thermostat installation that I was doing myself (Youtube). After we chatted a few minutes, I think that he could see that I knew what I was doing and had made the proper connections. He gave me two options. He said that he could come on Thursday at a cost of $195 or I could try to do it myself. I consider myself a handy person, so I took his challenge. We did the whole process through pictures and texts and it took about 5-7 minutes. My thermostat is now working beautifully! I asked him how much I owed him and he simply said that he was glad to help. You really don't find people like Chris very often these days. As a single mom and a teacher, every penny counts. I would definitely recommend Chris because he really cares. I will definitely call again!

I called Chris on Tuesday and left a msg on his voice mail.  He returned my call within 10 minutes.  I explained that the heater would run for a while and then just shut off,  He told me that it sounded like it could just be a dirty filter and that I should probably replace it first.  I told him that we had just replaced the filter.  I appreciated the fact that he attempted to give me a quick solution to my problem rather than try to rack up charges for a service visit.  We made an appointment for today, Friday, for 8:00 to 9:00 am. Well, unfortunately I was not able to be here when he arrived, but my father was.  When I arrived, it was 10 minutes after 9:00 and he was already gone!  My father told me that he was here promptly at 8:00, got immediately to work to diagnose the problem, diagnosed the problem, did the repair and was out in 40 minutes.  We now have heat again.  Thanks Chris!

Owner is the installer himself. While he may come across as somewhat curt, I thought that the owner did a fairly accurate job of managing expectations.
Since he is the sales man / installer. He tries to optimize the time by giving a rule of thumb pricing over the phone. If you like and want to move forward, he would come and provide more detailed pricing. His pricing was with various options, it helped me decide on the exact configuration I wanted to go-with after understanding the price.
He was flexible to work with options  (as I considered changing my design the last day) and his team did an excellent job, no complaints. Great Job !!

Perfect Air had a fair price. Their work was clean and efficient and they were easy to work with. The owner of the company explained the options well so that I could understand and make a decision. They didn't pressure me to put the air conditioning unit, they were happy to come back at a later date and do the job, they are not like other companies who pressure you to do everything at one go and then charge you a lot.

Horrible Experience!  Charged $450 for 20 Minutes of Labor! Chris completely ripped me off! He charged $550 total for a 20 minute job. This is a small A/C unit for a small commercial property (Approx. 500 square feet). When I asked for him to breakdown the cost he refused. I explained that the property was a rental, and I needed the information for my CPA. I asked him how much the part cost and he literally replied, "it doesn't matter how much this part costs, you said you were going to pay me $550". After haggling him he finally wrote $100 Parts, $450 Labor on the bill. He only started to look nervous after I threatened to write bad reviews about his service and then he handed me $60 in cash!! Please use anyone else!!! Do not make my mistake!!!!
Response from Perfect Air - Heating and Air Conditioning
"This was a commercial job with a commercial unit in terrible condition. She called and I met her at the location with in the hour. I found what was wrong and gave her a fair price to take care of everything. She immediatly agreed. I only charge a 75.00 service call which I credit to any repairs. (75.00 for a commercial service call is the lowest in my area.) I did the work as stated, quickly and in a professional manner. I had the system running perfectly and completly tuned up in about an hour. If she did not like the price she could simply have said no. But instead she waits untill AFTER the job is totally complete, and it is time for payment, and threatens to leave bad reviews. My only regret is giving her any money back at all. My prices are lower than all of my competitors. This was a tough job, needing a very hard to diagnose part. I charged fairly. If it takes me an hour or 5 hours it is the same cost. It is completly un acceptable to try to re-negotiate after the work is done. I did not get nervous when she said she would leave a bad review, I got mad. She got a competitive price, agreed to it, than had a fit till I gave her some money back. Pathetic. I got the distinct impression she does this for all her properties. Hires contractors and than after the work is done tries to beat them down on the price she owes. Pity I cant leave a review for her. I am happy to have an "A" rating with the B.B.B, numerous positive reviews, and literally hundreds of happy customers. Please do not make the mistake of thinking she was over charged, she wasn't."

My house is near the beach and I was in the middle of a major mold remediation process when my contractor said that the heater needed to come out. The heater and waterheater are in the same closet and that was ground zero for the mold issue at that point. The mold ended up being a much bigger issue, but that is another story. My contractor called Perfect Air and said he really likes this guy because he is a can-do kind of guy and committed to showing up when he was needed. Chris was initially very quick to respond and was very flexible in meeting my schedule throughout the process. I had to change my schedule at the last minute and he gracefully accomodated that change and offered to come the following day with his team to install the new unit. The other heating contractors would not commit to our schedule and some would not even call back. He came out and assessed the situation for free and then gave us his estimate.
The heater was more than 20 years old and was too big for the square footage of the house so I decided to replace it. The new one is a smaller footprint and the thermostat is in a much better place. I asked Chris if he could move the thermostat and it was 'sure, I can do that for you'. I also told him that the air was too noisy and he cut back on the output. He asked  a number of questions, which I really appreciated.
They came out on the agreed upon day and went right to work. They set the A/C unit on a new pad outside, or what looked like a new pad. He brought my existing pad up to ground level, out of the dirt, and then put a new one on that so it is away from water and dirt in the future. He wrapped the hoses as that material was very frayed and old. He also checked out the duct that was not functioning and he was able to connect it and got it to put a normal output of air into the room. The mold contractor had said that he did not think he would be able to do anything with it, but he certainly fixed it.
One thing that I need to do on a regular basis is run the fan. That helps keep the mold back. The original request of Perfect Air did not include an ion-exchange unit addition to the heater unit.. That is something that the mold contractor added on after the heater was installed. He called Chris and he came back out and put it onto the heater at no charge. When the fan is running mold spores are attracted to the ion exchanger.
When I started using the fan I realized I had a problem with the thermostat. It stopped working and the readout went blank. Chris came out very quickly and totally replaced the thermostat. It is working perfectly now.
Chris is professional and runs a good group of employees, they take care of business quickly, and he offers a fair price. If I ever need a heating / A/C guy again I will be calling Chris at Perfect Air in Lakewood, CA. He is not one of these contractors that sees a single woman and ups his price like so many of them do. You will definately not be sorry that you called him.
