When I first talked to him on the phone he seemed extremely friendly, laughed a lot, I would say he was almost giddy. He said he would show up at 8AM on a Sunday and that he would remove the old microwave and install the new one. I had other projects lined up for him also. When he did not show up at 8AM, I called and he answered and said he had a family emergency the night before and would be there in an hour. Meanwhile I took out the old microwave and hauled it outside, removed the new microwave from the packaging and took inside the house (no easy task, I am in my sixties). He finally showed up at around 10:00AM, was quite sullen and in a very bad mood or so it seemed to me. When he finished installing the new microwave, he asked if I wanted him to do anything else, I told him no. He went out to his car and was on the phone for about 20 minutes, finally I went out and asked him how much he was going to charge, he said it was up to me since I had taken out the old microwave. He was going to charge me $80.00 so I gave him $40.00.

Jonathan is a one man show. He was thorough and the finished product was great - I couldn't believe he made a messy uneven external wall look like it has always been an internal wall just by plastering over. Very nice guy; personable. He wasn't the fastest around so it required some patience. We spoke to one of his references and had him do a couple little things first; we agreed with his reference that his work was good but kinda slow so we asked him to bid the project rather than just go hourly and he was fine with that. He was cheaper than our previous handyman and the other guy we talked to for this stuff. We trusted him to work when we weren't home so we could just come home each day to the completed work. A few days later he was finished, we paid him a very reasonable rate for the amount of work (I think he said he bids based on $45/hr but with the time he put in it was probably about $35/hr or slightly less in the end), the work was beautiful and we were very happy.
