While the cost might sound high, I can tell you that Ed and his team worked their tails off and did a bang-up job. They spent more than a week just ripping our loose glazing, scraping and sanding the windows and re-glazing. After letting the glazing cure, they came back and put on two hand-painted coats of paint. They made a point of "kissing the glass" with each window to make sure that the glazing stays protected.
Ed is great at communicating and his crew are efficient and clean. I have two little ones at home, and they were always careful about not leaving a mess! They even did a complete walk-though with me and my punch list and took care of all the little details.
I have a ton of paint work still to do, and based on this job, I will be calling Ed for all of it.
"I appreciated working for the [member name removed] family, very easy going, took some of my suggestions for the colors, they appreciated our work and our efforts, I take a pleasure in saying that I not only gain a customer but a friend as well."
It's clear that Ed and his painters take great pride in their work, and Ed himself is a great communicator. He's always quick to follow up on phone calls, and stays on top of the work through regular check-ins and visits.
We count him among the few contractors that we'll always turn to.
Ed's initial estimate in terms of cost and time to completion were spot on. Though we delayed the initial start date by several days due to the recent wind storms, his team was always prompt, well organized and very productive. Importantly, the attention to detail was always there, which is particularly important when working with older casement windows.
We intend to use Ed for any future painting projects we might come up with. For now, we recommend him to all of you.
We initially planned on just fixing the six problematic windows, but then decided to do all the exterior trim. The quote was very reasonable and just as a lark, I decided to ask him for a quote to paint the exterior stucco too (i.e. the whole house) because I had always hated the color and texture of the texture coat. I was shocked at how affordable that price came back at, so we went for it.
His crew was pretty great: on time; did a beautiful job -they used Pratt and Lambert elastomeric paint to help minimize the roughness of the texture; got everything done lickety-split; and cleaned up great too. They were fantastic and Ed was here all the time to check on the job and help me make decisions because I was having a hard time with colors. Just a wonderful experience. In the end, I was super happy with the job and still love how gorgeous my house looks now! We were so happy to have been able to work with Ed.
Please note, Ed is bonded, insured and pays worker's comp; at least that was all so when I hired him. And I am pretty sure he is also licensed (I usually verify all that stuff before hiring) so I don't know why his listing here doesn't reflect that. In addition, he is certified to work with lead paint too. Lead turned out not to be an issue for me, but he did all the necessary tests for me at a separate cost.
