Anchor Seaport Escrow was selected by the seller (as specified in the house purchase contract). On the whole they were OK; everything went through reasonably smoothly. However, they made two mistakes, both related to the fact that they were handling both our home purchase and the purchase of the seller's new property.
1. They did not forward payment towards our homeowner's insurance policy, and instead forwarded a duplicate payment towards the policy of the seller's new house. We noticed the error shortly before our payment was due, and to expedite the transaction we paid our premium ourselves and Anchor Seaport reimbursed us by check for the erroneous payment they had made on our behalf.
2. They sent us copies of the loan documents for the seller's new property by mistake. These were documents that the seller had presumably left behind when they signed their new contract, and Anchor Seaport mistakenly called us to ask if we wanted them mailed or shredded; since we didn't know which documents these were, we asked for them to be mailed, and when they arrived we discovered they weren't ours.
