Not the place to go to if your looking for something custom made and if details are important to you. Because they don't fabricate the furniture onsite, there is the potential for a BIG disconnect between the "designer" Ryan Hedgecock and his fabricator Paco out in Riverside. We hired Ryan to design a retro bathroom vanity and it turned out to be a disaster. It is clear that the requirements of this design were beyond his scope of design abilities. Our general contractor whose team was laying our tile even spent an hour with Ryan going over the specs to make sure everything was correct with regard to the area where tile would be laid next to the sink. The angles were incorrect where our tile would lay on the top, the pullout drawers didn't extend past the glides, he made a crucial change to the design which he claims we approved. One of the most amazing things is that he and his mother both claim that all their pieces come with plywood sides (ours even had a plywood front!) even when the specs called for all Alder and that they don't finish the nail holes! We were charged close to $1,400 for this piece which we could not use. We had it remade by another contractor for literally half the price and it was perfect and met all our expectations. Unfortunately, we ended up in small claims court and the judgement called both parties to assume responsiblity for the problems. We should have checked the Better Business Bureau site before hiring UFM Designs. It would have saved us a lot of time and frustration as well as money!
