Established in 1976, Rancho Pool Service began as a small pool route of less than 100 pools. We now service more than 700 pools, spas, and fountains in the South Bay area and believe our ongoing success to be a result of our hard work, dedication, and passion for the pool business. Rancho Pool Service is licensed by the California State Contractors Board (#853869), which is required for all pool renovations and repairs over $500.00 and our technicians are licensed by the L.A. County Health Department. We also carry full liability and workers compensation insurance for your protection and ours. Our goal is to provide outstanding service and to satisfy our customers. They have been very good. We have had a lot of trouble with the pool, and they have taken care of it. They keep the pool clean, and it is a hot water pool, and so they keep the flow levels good.

Their service has been great! Everything they’ve done has been outstanding. They have been very reliable and great to work with! Enrique, the pool service technician, is very nice, polite, conscientious and knowledgeable.  He has never missed a scheduled service day.  I am completely happy with their service.

We bought our spa heater from them and it has been problematic ever since we got it.  After going out and talking to the manager, he sent his technician Jim.  Jim replaced some of the circuit boards and everything and it has been fine since.  They are a good company and we have used them for a long time.  They didn’t charge us for that because we have been having all these issues and were frustrated.  We did pay labor on that which was a $130.  I haven’t done any price comparisons, I would think that their price is fairly in line with the other providers.  They are pretty much average with their availability.  They are busy and it would be very hard to get a same day service.  They do get out there when they can work one into their schedule that happens, within a day or two.  Jim, the technician is really, really god.  He really explained what the issues are and what he does to solve it.  We like him a lot.  I haven't been happy with the product; I should have done some online research on that.  The service guy, Jim is excellent however, I had to fight a lot to get what I felt was right.  As a business, their quality of service has been just okay.  Jim does really good work.  He is fantastic.  We have had a lot of issues with the unit and we have spent a lot of money for the unit but we still get problems every six months.  I keep calling and complaining and that is when I finally thought of going down to them and showing them the numbers, when I did the stats from the previous unit versus this one.  It was kind of ridiculous.  That is when the general manager decided to replace these things.  Jim probably took it up with the company.  It caused me a lot of duress and I wish they would have just done it sooner.  It is hard to comment on Jim's punctuality because we are never really here when he comes out.  I would use them in the future and I would recommend them as well.

"Discount Pool Supply offers FREE estimates for any equipment upgrades or remodeling work. The only time we charge a service call is if we actually have to troubleshoot a problem with equipment, plumbing or electrical. In other words, use tools to determine what the problem is. We also agree to apply the service charge towards the estimate if you decide to have us complete the work we proposed. The job you are referring to was done in July 2009! (not October 2011) according to our records we charged you our minimum charge of $90.00 (not $125) to disassemble your filter, inspect and rotate the filter cartriges and clean debris from the pump basket. We consider this to be very fair and a typical charge for a licensed and insured pool company to provide this service. We have not increased our service rates for several years and we find our rates to be very competitive in our industry. I am sorry you were unhappy with the service you recieved from us and I am available to discuss this or any other concerns you may have about your pool or our service team. my name is Jeff and I am the owner."

We have been using them for a number of years now. I think in general we have been happy with them. The specific gentleman that comes out, his name is Jim, is just top notch and does a great job. I don't know if the issues we have are necessarily the company's problem. We had the heating unit for the pool and spa replaced almost two years ago. The warranty was for one year. It seems like two or three times a year we find that it just ceases to work and they come out and replace panels and all that. It hasn't been cheap. I think I called them back and told them about it being frustrating. I pulled out all the paperwork and looked at how much money I spent on the new heater. The one we had before probably lasted for twenty years. I think I spent over $800 or $1100 which seemed real excessive for a couple-year-old heater. I spoke to the manager directly and he told me that they were not trying to nickel and dime us. He said that whatever the issue was before he said they wouldn't charge us. Jim came out and it's worked ever since and there was no charge. They didn't charge me anything for the service. Generally I am very happy with these guys. I think they do a good job. It's probably more of this unit. It certainly frustrated me over the last couple of years. I can't necessarily blame them for it. They come out and take care of it, but it keeps costing me money which I find frustrating. I think they are kind of pricey. I have been happy with Jim's service and it is quality work. I have not been so happy with the unit that we got. I have had to call them a few times to see when they were going to come out. I like these guys. He is out there most of the times. I think sometimes he is overloaded and I have had to call back to find out when we are going to get it serviced. I would continue to use them in the future.

"We always make an huge effort to insure that our customers are happy with the work we do for them. Unfortunately the newer "Low Nox" heaters that are now required to be installed do not have the long life expectancy of the old "millivolt" or non low nox heaters. These new heaters run much hotter and have more electronics and even a electric fan and are just more expensive to maintain. It is always a good idea to periodically run your heater for several minutes every couple of months. We are a warranty station for all the major brands and our technicians are factory trained. May I suggest that you have us service your heater every spring to keep it working properly and efficiently and hopefully prevent any major repairs in the future. This is what the manufacturer recommends."

REPLACED POOL LIGHT AND SPA LIGHT. NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH SPA LIGHT UNTIL THEY REPLACED THE POOL LIGHT - THEN IT STOPPED WORKING. ULTIMATELY GOT BOTH WORKING, BUT I STILL DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED THAT CAUSED THE SPA LIGHT TO FAIL ALSO. NOT SURE HOW TO RATE VENDOR.
