This service did not go well. The provider said that there was water damage to the work that they had done. My insurance adjuster stated that they could not find any water leaks. I am just very disappointed and dissatisfied with this providers work.

This was water damage covered by an insurance claim. They worked with me to find replacement floor products (tile and laminate wood) that would cover all the floors needing replacement, fitting my decor, and within the replacement cost the State Farm insurance was willing to pay.

Felt like I got 2nd or 3rd string installers. All toilets were unusable after 1st day of repair. They did not install the carpet edge protectors at the doors of bathrooms. One of the toilets was not installed correctly, and led to a leak. Owner/forman did not inspect work until I called with problems. Avoid or proceed with extreme caution.

The installer arrived and started to work without sealing off the other areas of the house, as was promised to prevent dust accumulation. When I asked him to do so, he said that he didn't bring enough tape. I had a roll, so he proceeded to mask off the room. After the wood was down, two other employees came to do the staining and put down the polyurethane. The person doing the staining didn't seem to be knowledgeable about how to match the old floor. I kept telling him that the old floor didn't have a stain, but he kept insisting that it was necessary in order to match the woods. As soon as the stain went on, it became very obvious that the grain of the new wood was very different than the grain of the old wood. They didn't match at all. One of the men who came to do the staining said that he noticed that the wrong wood was installed and that the floor should be completely replaced. I told the manager that the floor was unacceptable, even to his own employee. He came out to look at it, with the manager from the company that sold the wood, and the installer. They insisted that the quality of the oak was the same. They gave us two offers to remedy the problem: One was to cut out 20 boards that didn't match and replace them (we counted over 50 that were unacceptable). Their own employee said that this would ruin the integrity of the tongue-and-groove fit. They would discount the job by a few hundred dollars. Second choice was to Stain and finish the floor as it was installed and they would discount the job by about a thousand dollars. Since neither of these was a solution we were happy with, we said that since they could do the floor improperly for a discount, they could do it right for the originally agreed upon price, or they could refund our money and we would start again with a new contractor. They agreed to refund our deposit and we are now looking for another floor company. The whole process took about 4 weeks. We have since had another floor company look at the wood and was told that the wood is NOT the same grade as our existing floor and that much of the wood is actually the waste of the tree. I looked up the wood grades on line. There are four main grades, Clear, Select, Common 1 and Common 2; Clear being the heartwood, with very fine grain, Common 2 having very strong grain and knotholes. Our old floor appears to be a mixture of Clear and Select. The new floor appears to be Common 1.

Maxwell brothers caused me great hardship. State farm insurance paid for the complete demolition and replacement of the bamboo on the first floor (due to an insurance claim) from Maxwell Brothers original installation. The bamboo was not acclimated to temperature and later emitted expansion - contraction sounds. Interior underlayment paper and cheap household vinyl were used over a concrete foundation. Stain did not reach floor perimeters. Debris was left in stain. Floor creaked under pressure.

Poor quality installation by seemingly inexperienced workers. Caused significant damage to work of other trades. Poor response to telephone calls. Inadequate oversight from shop on installation or follow up re-inspection once issues reported in writing. Ultimately had to reduce payment to compensate for remedial work.
