MARVIN WINDOWS & DOORS

Received the windows in January and with work postponed installing them until May.  I left them in the original shipping cardboard and shrinkwrap in my cabinet shop with the intent of openning one at a time and painting the sashes and frame in the shop to minimize paint odor.  The second window I openned had a defect in the coating on the metal finish.  I notified my local dealer who dealt with the rep and they picked up the frame in July.  I didn't get it back until August.  Meanwhile I worked on other windows.  With each window I found it was necessary to scrape off sealant on the window glass because I couldn't get a clean paint line.  Also there was additional glue and caulk on both sides of the glass that had to re scraped off carefully with a razorblade so that the glass could be cleaned.  All this extra work took about two hours per window. (Not the sort of thing you expect to do with an expensive high end window).  Today I openned another window and from scratches in the exterior metal finish.  Contacted Marvin rep who was aware that I was painting the windows as a I installed them.  His comment was they would look at the sashes but probably couldn't do anything about it.

For the price I paid for these windows I just expect the quality to be a lot better than it has turned out to be.  I could never recommend Marvin to anyone again

I priced out EVERY other window company in the area and he had great prices.
