We shopped all around and then chose Marble Expo.  They have a great showroom with lots of variety.  Betty, who helped us, really knew her stuff and listened to what we were looking for. Once we decided and gave the go ahead,  they were at our home in about a week to install.  The installers took pride in their work and were very careful around our new cabinets. WOW,  we love the new look and are very happy.  Price-wise they were very reasonable. The same job at the local hardware store giant was quoted more than a thousand dollars more and we didn't know who the installer would be.  It was nice to have a person at the other end of the phone who we could ask, even our dumb questions.  They do have a small parking lot, but that's the only negative,  everything else was great!

I went to Marble Expo to look for  12" x 12" granite tile to place around my gas fireplace after going to several other stores.  They had a nice selection of granite and ample parking.  They also have convenient hours as they are open on Saturdays. It was important to me to find just the right color/pattern of granite to match my gas fireplace.  I chose a granite tile they had on display which was very unique.  Stelios said he would order a sample and would call me.  After about 2 weeks, I called him to see if he got the sample since I had not heard from him.  He told me that he could not find that particular granite and that he had actually looked for it at a granite convention (and that was why he didn't get back to me sooner).  I told him I would go back to his store to choose something else.  After two other visits to his store, Stelios showed me a granite slab  that he had leftover from a kitchen project.  He thought the color/pattern would match my fireplace and based on what I told him about my fireplace, he thought he could cut the slab into 3 large pieces to fit around my fireplace and since it was a leftover piece of granite, he would charge me the same price as if I was buying the granite tile.  The cost of installation was $500, which I think is very reasonable.  I went home and measured my fireplace and faxed over a drawing of my fireplace so that Stelios could determine if the slab was big enough.  Luckily for me, it was.   An installer (I can't remember his name) came to my home to measure my fireplace and then returned about a week and a half later to install the granite. He came on time and did a beautiful job.  He was neat and cleaned up after he was done as well.  I am extremely happy with the way my fireplace looks.  The granite surround is just gorgeous and looks a million times better than if I had used 12" X 12" granite tiles.  I am very grateful to Stelios for suggesting I use the custom cut granite slab and am very happy with the service I received from Stelios and his installer. 

We were under a tight deadline and wanted to have all of the work completed in 3 weeks (before a large party we had planned). Marble Expo assured us they would finish in time and they did (even though we made constant changes to materials and designs, they were flexible and understanding and worked with us and finished ahead of schedule!). All of the work they did was impeccable. Their workers arrived promptly each morning and were polite, quiet and courteous. They always prepped the walkways, hallways, etc. each day so that the rest of the house remained clean. The crew supervisor (Trinidad) and the owner of Marble Expo (Dimitri Iliadis) came by on a regular basis to inspect the work that had been done. Marble Expo had the best choice of travertine and granite and it was close to our house. They offered design suggestions which we implemented. The floors, countertop and remodeled bathroom are absolutely beautiful, we expected to sell the house at the end of the year, but now have second thoughts since it looks so great.
