Monterey Pines Apartment Home

I had a bad experience getting my deposit back.   They actually told me at one point I would never get my deposit back, no one does.  I treated that apartment with complete care and respect.  I never put a single nail in the wall, I cleaned the apartment emmaculately before I left, I cleaned the carpets, everything.  The place actually looked better than when I moved in. They ended up charging me a $100 cleaning fee.  What upsets and annoys me is that they charge this cleaning fee to anyone regardless of how well they clean up.  I feel that this is disingenious and a scheme to rip off their tenants.  During our walkthrough the property manager even marked on her final walkthrough that the carpets had been shampooed.  My feeling is that if they are going to keep your deposit because of their cleaning fee, then they should just add it to your rent.  It is wrong to give the impression that the deposit will be coming back to the tenant at the end of lease, when it never does.
