TOM'S USED BOOKS

I'm moving back to Lodi after being gone for over 5 years. In the past I've purchased bokks, DVD's & VHS tapes from Tom, and found him very professional & courteous-- a little excentric, but that adds color to the store. Today (12 Mar, '13), I took two bags off books in to trade in so as to start to build up book credits. I have no idea what set Tom off, but after asking a few very polite questions about what he looks for, etc. He just decided he didn't want any of the books-- this is after he set more than half of them aside to possibly keep. He told me he was fussy about the condition of the books and covers, which I knew, but when I asked him why he was rejecting books in great shape-- he just went off about how he's been in this business for years & nobody has ever questioned him about his business, etc!! After trying to tell him I was just asking questions, he put ALL my books back in the bags & told me to get out of his store. I have no idea what it is I said or did, but I will not ever do business with him again. I think perhaps it's time for Tom to maybe consider retiring a second time. His actions were totally inappropriate and uncalled for.
