Talked to j when I called at 8:30am. Said he'd send someone out between 9:30 new 11am. 
Guys didn't show by 12:15 so I called again. Jeff apologized, said someone would be right over.  Shortly thereafter tech called, 2 guys called, came over and fixed the problem. Polite and knowledgeable. Reasonably priced.

Dave was great. He was here when expected was very professional. He was very knowledgeable and gave good recommendations on some future projects. The price was very fair and we will definitely use Phil and Paul's again.

Jeff, the owner, accommodated our same day service request and kept us
apprised of when the technician would be here.  Josh was excellent,
fixed our problem easily, gave us advice of what to do/use in the future
to help slow draining pipes, was very professional and friendly.  I

Water heater was broke.  Called July 3, 2014 in the a.m. and they set up an afternoon appointment to check it out.  Jason arrived and explained the options.  He was honsest and said I can try to fix but may break again.  It was a 20 year old unit so I just decided to buy a new one.  
Also said they were so busy they couldn't get to it until next week.  I couldn't wait that long.  After some phone calls, he was able to get a crew out that evening to complete the task.  They were definately working overtime that day. 
I have used them in the past to attach a kitchen gas line when I went from an electric range to gas.   I will definately use this company for future plumbing needs.

I have had Phil and Paul"s do plumbing repairs for me since October 2012.  Last November 2013 they repaired a leak and replaced a valve on my automatic pool fill.  I did not use it at all during the winter and I have only used it about three times this summer since I have been using the hose to refill the pool when needed due to water conservation.  July 28th I turned on the valve and not only did the valve not stop turning but the same pipe was leaking.  When I called I was told their work is only guaranteed for 90 days.  I tried to explain that it has not been used but evidently he did not believe me.  A technician came out and when he tried to turn the valve on it did not stop turning and it literally came off in his hand and spewed water all over.  He reattached and turned it off which took some effort.  I told him I felt I should get some kind of a discount since I had not been using the valve and it was obviously defective.  He called his boss and came back to tell me that he did not like being in the middle but between the new valve and labor it would be approximately what it cost to have it repaired the first time.  I was so upset that I told him to forget it.  Rather than have to pay again for something that was obviously not right to begin with I will continue to fill the pool with the hose.  I have given Phil and Paul $1950 between October 2012 and November 2013 and I was never told there was a Senior Discount and therefore never received one.

"The part that was installed was installed correctly and the part itself failed. We did not manufacturer this valve we only purchased it for you at a local store and installed it for you. The work that was done was not the problem but the part itself failed weather by misuse or other couldn't be determined. The manufacturer warranty for the part had expired. Our warranty for items such as this exceeds the manufacturers warranty but at 10 months after the installation the warranty for parts that we do not manufacturer is up after 90 days. If we had seen that as a direct result of the work we did caused the problem we would have taken care of this for you free of charge. We offered to upgrade the valve to a solid brass valve that costs around 75% more and would have to special order. I also offered to install it all for almost $100.00 less than the original job cost 10 months ago. Jeff Larsen"

He initially checked the drainage from each of 3 toilets.  All were initially free running but on repeated reflushes indicated a slowing drain.  He checked drainage at one cleanout but didn't find the problem.  There were anomalies found.  We could hear water flowing from one of the upstairs drains and appearing at the cleanout point promptly, but toilet paper didn't appear.  The other upstairs toilet flushed (we could hear the water flow), but no water or paper showed up at the cleanout point.  Steve appeared stuck at this point -- suggesting he could clean out the holes in the toilet bowls or replace the bowls,  But clearly,the problem was in the drain system.  I closed the job at that point and paid him for his time.

They were pretty professional and consciences. Their prices were higher than expected to pay. They had to run several times to get the parts. I had written a cheque ahead of time. Still when the technician came, he had to run several times to get the things. They were pretty good all in all. I would probably use them in the future.

I originally called another plumber recommended by Angie's list. They couldn't come out for several days and suggested Phil & Paul's. I spoke directly with owner, Jeff, who set up an appointment between 4-5 the same day. He arrived on time and observed the problem and immediately focused on the kitchen drain access, clearing the clog. He was polite, informative, and efficient. He gave me information about the aging plumbing in my house. I will definitely use Phil & Paul's again.

Jeff came out the next day and as usual fixed everything with no trouble, cleaned up after himself and offered to put a new faucet on the tub for just the cost of the part, which he happened to have a spare one on hand. These guys are always fair and very professional and they get stuff fixed. I wouldn't call anyone else.
