About us
We are a local, family owned and operated flooring business. We have aquarter century of experience starting at the wholesale and manufacturing level in the flooring industry, and we are contractors as well as sales people. The owner, James Nielson,is on each and every jobsite and we never use outside labor crews. We purchase our products at the same level as the huge box stores, yet have very little overhead, and guarantee the lowest price on the same item. We are master craftsmen with abundant refferences, and maintain a higher standard of craftmanship than any other shop/retailer. We have an exceptional reputation and base our practices on honesty, integrity, and hard work.

We had Nielson Fine Floors install waterproof flooring in our two bedrooms. The experience was top notch from start to finish. They were very accommodating in helping pick out the perfect match for our floors. The installation team was very professional and very skilled. It was very comfortable having them in our home. We couldn't be happier with how the floors look. I would highly recommend James and Diane at Nielson Fine Floors. Great local business!

This is a family owned business on Twelve Bridges Drive in Lincoln Ca owned by James and Diane Neilson. I recently moved to Sun City and wanted to have the carpet replaced with hardwood flooring.
James and Diane were very helpful in providing design ideas and assistance with selecting the hardwood. I ultimately chose the seven inch hickory plantation style. I was pleased to see their pricing was so reasonable and the service they offered went well beyond anything I had ever experienced at the big box stores.
They were able to get the hardwood from the supplier within a few days of my selection and began installation a week or so later. I had about 1000 square feet done, and they did the entire job of removing the wall to wall carpet, leveling the cement foundation and installing the hardwood within less than a week. They staged the job perfectly from room to room so there was minimal disruption and removed and replaced all the furniture as they progressed through the job. Throughout the project they stayed in constant contact and the process went very smoothly. James is very committed to the quality of his work and is a stickler for fine detail and takes great personal interest in getting the job done perfectly. The end result was a superb job and the floors look beautiful.
I cannot say enough good things about James and Diane. They are delightful people and the best contractors I have ever worked with. The quality of their service is outstanding and their pricing is as good as, if not better, than the big box stores. I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

Everything went awesome. From going to the show room and meeting with Diane, to meeting with James, and then the crews. All where professional and great. Everything was clean when they left. Love both the cork and the new laminate. They arrived on time or called to say they were running 15 minutes late. They did there best to keep all dust and dirt to a minimum. Just remembered I also got two carpet runners for the sides of a King bed. Liked it in the show room and they brought out they sample to let me see if it worked. It does! Great customer service and workmanship. I have already recommended them to family and friend.

It went very well. Nielson Fine Floors was recommended by another Contractor I hired to paint the house. There hardwood floor was cheaper than S&G’s hardwood floor. I paid $4 a square foot and the same type at S&G would have been $8 a square foot.

They pulled out the old carpet through the nail boards and fill in the holes. They did a foam barrier and then laid the flooring. They put it together very nicely and it looks pretty.

I found Nielson Fine Floors on Angie's list after reading reviews. James and his wife, the owners came out to my home and took measurements and gave me ideas of what could be done. They brought samples of different types of flooring and made suggestions. After much decisions of colors, type and style the process was started. The installation took 5 days and worth every day....James is a perfectionist and does a fantastic job! He had to remove all the carpet in my home, pull out the tile entryway and also an old hardwood floor in kitchen. He was great about moving the furniture and working around me as I was there most of the time. They were very good about always cleaning up everyday and leaving it livable for the evening. James did a fantastic job and would highly recommend Nielson Fine Floors.

I've done a lot off remodeling and have worked with many tradesmen and James is one of the best! I just moved to a new area and joined Angie's list. After reading reviews I contacted three different hardwood floor installers. James responded within 24 hours. I didn't hear from the others for a couple of days. I was under a time crunch and he came and looked at the job, gave me a reasonable estimate and had my new floors installed beautifully all within my time constraint. The only problem was I had purchased the wood from a company online before I had contacted James and had problems with the delivery. I would definitely recommend getting the wood from the person installing it. James has a great work ethic, is a true professional and did beautiful work at a reasonable price. What more could you ask for? Carpet...I'm going to their showroom to pick out carpet for the only room in the house that I didn't do hardwood. I highly recommend James and Diane and will definitely recommend them to anyone.

James removed entry way tile which was quite a chore. James and his helper removed carpet, pad, and tack strip/disposal/Gen.Prep. James is a very talented--meticulous craftsman. The price for the labor and hardwood was quite good, but more importantly the workmanship was great!!

Diane was very friendly and easy to work with. She had an infinite amount of patience in allowing us to bring home a large number of sample flooring materials to help up make our decision. We chose 3 different luxury vinyl patterns for our kitchen, laundry room and upstairs bathrooms. James then came by our home to prefield the job and explain the installation process. We set up our date and the installers were right on time and worked straight through to complete the job in one day. The installers were very efficient and hard working but also respectful of our house and appliances that were moved. We were very happy with our luxury tile and the installation. We only had one small issue in one of the bathrooms and James personally came to our home and fixed it. The entire process from start to finish was very good. My wife and I would highly recommend James Nielson for his professionalism and attention to detail. James and Diane were very easy to work with and have a top rate crew of installers.
