Fermin (and Luis) were great throughout the project. They were on-site all of the time. Whenever a question or issue came up they quickly addressed it. The project was completed on time and on budget (aside from the changes that we asked for along the way).

We obtained several bids for a major home renovation which included a complete demolition of the interior and the addition of 500 square feet. After comparing and meeting with all potential contractors we decided to go with Fermin based on personal recommendations from people we know who had used him in the past. His pricing was very competitive and we found both his work and the materials used to be of high quality. We found it very easy discussing various issues with Fermin and appreciated his suggestions on handicap bathroom design and the open kitchen concept. It was reassuring to know that Fermin was always on site and that he and his crew were prompt and very professional. Fermin pulled all the necessary permits and worked with city inspectors on any issues in order to get the approvals. We are very pleased with the work that Fermin and his crew did on the house which was completed within the scheduled time and budget. We highly recommend Fermin and crew for any small or large project.

From demolition to final sign off from the city of Torrance the process stayed on schedule. But with a remodel new challenges do arise and we worked through them as fast as possible with out too much impact to the overall schedule. Cost estimates were generated quickly and added work schedule to meet the overall completion date. The working crew started on time and worked a full day. They cleaned up everyday. Polite, friendly, professional, respectful and trustworthy. Good nature, easy to talk and communicate to.

Our relationship with Fermin and his team was great from the beginning. As we reviewed the design, we discussed various options and suggestions that Fermin had. We went to the site a couple of times a week to see how things were going. The team was always there, always friendly, and always making progress. During our weekly visits, we discussed design options - Fermin often had great suggestions - such as wainscoting in the master bath. And it looks fabulous. I loved the back and forth we had - discussions about what we should do - some we agreed with, some we didn't - but that didn't matter. It was just a conversation. We ended up with some changes in the end because of city regulations our designer hadn't included - but beyond that, we were on budget at the end - and would have been close to the original schedule except for the city changes. We would hire Fermin again at any time. We continue to have them come back for smaller projects. I would definitely recommend KD Construction for any project, big or small.

Ferman and his crew were and are extremely knowledgeable. They are very considerate and respectful. I couldn't be happier with the final outcome and Ferman was always there to help me or explain something to me, he would help me with design ideas too.

Everything went great! We have no complaints and only good things to say about Fermin and his crew. Deciding on a Contractor was a major issue for us. We have tons of friends who have had work done on their places and not one of them could recommend someone to us. In fact, most if not all had horror stories about bait and switch tactics, unreliable workers and jobs going way over their completion date. I'm talking 2-3 months of living in a hotel while things were "finished up".
We had none of these issues with Fermin. He gave us a schedule and stuck to it. The only thing that extended the finish date were additions that we made to the original plans. 
His guys were there every day working hard and take great pride in their work. Fermin was also always available and got back to us quickly if we had any questions or issues. He himself was on the job site on a regular basis lending a hand and making sure things went smoothly.
Working with Fermin we really felt taken care of. He worked with us and our budget to give the best possible results. We had talked with  3 or 4 other top rated bigger companies on Angie's List and were going to go with one of them. However, to be honest, we got bad vibes from all of them and in the end decided to go with Fermin. And I must say it was one of the better decisions I've made in my life. There was no middle man, and no "money man" to try and upsell you on more work. The same guys who started the job were the same guys who finished the job so everyone takes ownership with what's being done. That being said Fermin has a small company and takes care of everything himself. There is no team of folks in an office somewhere making things happen it's pretty much all him. So don't be scared off if it takes him a little longer to analyze your job and get you your first estimate. That was one of the reasons we first thought about going another way but I am so glad we didn't. I assure you any extra time you think you're wasting waiting for that estimate will be made up in the end with the quality and timeliness of his work. I can confidently say that if you give him a chance you will not regret it.

We obtained several bids due to the scope of the project we wanted performed - basically build a custom house from nearly the ground up. We talked with Fermin about the project and decided to use him (KD Construction) as our general contractor based on his personality, the recommendation of our building designer and the positive feedback from his referrals. He did not disappoint us! His pricing was very competitive. He and his crew completed the work on time, on budget and built us the house that we could only until then visualize. That said, there were several change orders and delays, which we thought may happen with this project. However, those were due to plan changes and material changes/upgrades on our part. Had it not been for these delays, Fermin would have completed the house in the 8 months he stated, on time and budget.

Fermin was always onsite every day at some point, and his crew including his foreman Luis worked tirelessly M-F including Saturdays and late into the evening on several occasions. Fermin, his crew and subcontractors were very easy to work with, opened to changes/suggestions, and did what we asked in order to get the job done to our satisfaction even if it meant more work and added more time to their busy schedule. They were very accommodating to our wants and needs while maintaining a high level of workmanship and quality throughout the project.
As the general contractor, Fermin always went to the city to obtain required permits and releases, and was very good at notifying us when city inspections were due, what they entailed and any cost involved. He would continuously discuss the plans with the building designer when questions arose and involved the structural engineer, if required, while keeping us informed.
What is remarkable with Fermin is to this day, ten months after the project completed, he is still willing to correct any problems that may arise! Yes. We would highly recommend Fermin and his KD Construction crew for any small or large remodeling or rebuilding project.

My wife and I looked at 4 different General Contractors and received bids from 3 of them, I am so happy that we ended up going with KD Construction!
The owner Fermin Martinez was on site most if not all days, the work always came in on time and on budget (yes, there were overuns but never without warning upfront or in writing BEFORE the work was started) for the entire remodel. 
His crew and subs wer amazing to work with, real craftsmen who listened to you and suggested different things, some we did, some we did not, but options were always presented and discussed as a group before major problesm ever surfaced. We ran into serious issues with the city of LA, who doesnt! but Fermin handled everything and in truth the permiting took longer than anything else. 
Speaking of time, KD Construction was in and out when they promised, they worked everyday except Sunday the entire time and finished complete remodel in 5 months, and the owner worked with us near the end everyday to make sure we got back into our house early so we did not have to pay another months rent (we vacated the property during construction) even though we still had minor finishing work to do - it was worth it.
I think the thing that impressed me the most after all the heartache of a complete rebuild (yes it is stressful no matter how good the contractor!!) was that Fermin the owner came back! I have done work before and when its over, the contractor is never to be heard from again, a few things needed repairing, KD came back and did it 2 months after the finish date. Last month, a full 8 months after we were done, we decided we need to move some lights and add a fan, Fermin and his forman Luis were back at our house and fixed it exactly the way we wanted it, that just doesnt happen much anymore these days...
I would highly recommend Fermin and KD Construction to anyone looking for a serious, extensive rebuild/remodel.

They came when they said they would, they were able to finish in the time expected.  the job was well done.

First, I wan to say how professional they were.  Masking everything off with plastic and protecting the front door.  They went right to work with 5 guys that first day.  They were very careful to check the level of the floor and called and discussed issues with my flooring contractor to make sure everyone was on-board.  At the end of each day they cleaned up everything including hand-wiping the floor and vacuuming all the dust.  They did this each day they worked.
They finished everything in 3 days, they did professional work, they cleaned up each day, and they know what they are doing.  I am very happy with their work.  Fermin is a very positive guy and he went out of his way to make the work go quickly and smoothly.
I would recommend KD Construction to all of my friends and plan to use him for future project.

Fermin and his friendly crew completely demolished and rebuilt my back patio and gave me a dream result. The job required demolishing and hauling out the existing dirt/cement/plants and rebuilding from scratch. Fermin's crew is friendly, trustworthy, and hardworking. Fermin is a very straight-forward and honest contractor who dealt with all change requests and customer concerns fairly and professionally. He is also a great resource for finding services in the South Bay. I would definitely use him again on any future jobs.

I got three estimates from three different companies to install a drywall and paint inside my two and a half car garage. KD construction offered me the best price and I felt the most comfortable with Fermin out of all the three owners of the other companies.  They started and finished the job in the time frame we agreed on. I was very satisfied with the result.

My husband and I met with several contractors regarding remodeling our kitchen, but we got the best vibe from Lou.  His pricing was also very competitive.  Lou and his crew were very professional during the entire remodeling process, completed the work on-schedule, and did a really excellent job.  We really love our new kitchen!  We would definitely use Lou again for future projects, and would recommend his services to our friends.

This project was a dream come true from beginning to end. Fermin is to this day my friend and I have already hired him to do additional work for me.

He's no "desk contractor"... he's there every day with his guys, hammer in hand banging away with them.
