Jim Poag was very responsive and generous with advice on wood flooring and carpet colors. The workmen who installed the wood and carpet flooring were experienced, appeared on time and did an excellent job. I would definitely use them again.

This is the second time I have used Eyedeal Interiors.  I wish the second time around went as smoothly as the first. I love my floors, however the installers were totally incompetent. I have to had request the installers come back to fix the error of their ways 1) leveling the dishwasher so I can open it 2) they nailed the pocket door open when new based boards were added 3) When they moved my refrigerator they left my lower freezer door open, not realizing this until much later when the food was ruined.  Additionally, they want me to arrange with the installer to come fix my pocket door.. what did I get hired as their coordinator? - Yet when I give times that I am available, they state the installer doesn't work those hours or won't be around 4) They failed to disclose or give an estimate of cost for the installation preparation. I would have hired a private contractor if I knew they were going to charge as much as they did.  They are over priced for the job they did in preparing my floors 5) Requested copies of paperwork, and asked for a 1099_MISC for the installer since payment was over $600, still nothing has been received  6) Spoke with Todd, co-owner, said he would call me back regarding this situation - He  never did.  7) Promised the job would be done in 2 days, it took 3.  Sad to say I will not use them again or recommend them.

We selected the carpet at their show room. They ordered it in advance and delivered it on the day of installation. A 4-man crew installed the carpet in half a day. The foreman inspected our house before proceeding with the work. They moved heavy furniture and avoided sensitive electronics as we directed them. They worked as an experienced, coordinated team. They removed the old carpeting and cleaned up carefully during and upon completion of work after putting the furniture back.

Overall, scheduling the work to begin went well - their guys were available as soon as I called for install date. The job for 4 rooms took about 4 days - only the first day the installer showed up just a bit later then time scheduled - due to terrible Los Angeles traffic. All my questions were answered - I believe the best flooring to suit my needs (pet friendly and matches decor very well) was met.

Originally, I was referred to Eyedeal Interiors by a friend. My contact was Pat Caldwell. He drove to my house half a dozen times to deliver flooring samples. We spoke on the phone quite a bit until he figured out what my tastes were versus my budget. I had a very tight budget to work with and Pat assured me that we could do this job and stay in my range. I never met Pat until the job was done, but that didn't matter. He sent me Mike and Willie - the best hardwood installers in the comapny.
The job was to remove existing tile and carpet in the entire house (except bathrooms) and replace bedrooms with carpet and the rest of the house with hardwood flooring. Mike and Willie did an amazing job and the floors look awesome! They were on time. They worked hard - even though it was during the hot spell when it was around 100 degrees every day. They had a good sense of humor and were very easy to work with. The tile in the entry way and kitchen proved very difficult to remove and there were layers of linoleum underneath the tile and part of the carpet in the dining room. It was an awful job getting everything out, but they did it.
The carpet installers came in and were out in such a short amount of time that I never met them, but the carpet is great with a nice thick pad so my kids can play on the floor and not feel like it's a hard floor.
Also, since I had just bought the house and closed escrow the week before, they had to deal with my painters being there and other handymen doing odd jobs. I gave them a strict deadline to be finished by the 24th so when my movers arrived, they could move in my furniture. They would have been out of there Thursday night, but I misunderstood something when ordering the carpet and didn't order the baseboard. So, they came back out Friday morning to get the baseboards installed in the bedrooms and primed for my painter. It all happened so quickly and I'm still amazed that it all came together the way it should.
I will definitely use Eyedeal again if the need arises. If you're looking for hardwood floors, call Pat and tell him you want Mike and Willie to do the install. You won't be disappointed!

It’s a commercial carpet company and is not a small business. We had used them before and the carpets had lasted for about 10 years - that is why we went back to them. They were fairly responsive and they came when they said they would. I had them install the carpets in December of 2008. Within a year’s time we were really disappointed with them - it was a total disaster. We had stains in every room of the house. The sum of this was that the carpets were not stain-proof; they were just about 9 months old but they looked more like they were 10 years old. When we told them about it, they just didn’t stand behind it - they just said that we should be more careful. They offered to give us the name of a good carpet cleaner. At that time, we were so disgusted with the carpet that we didn’t think it was right to do so much of work on the new carpets. We just decided to get rid of them. I had the carpets out by September 2009. The price of $6000 wasn’t a lot of money but it was too much to throw away for something that didn’t last a year. I would not use them in the future and wouldn’t recommend them either.
Response from EYEDEAL INTERIORS INC
"WE ONLY INSTALL THE PRODUCTS, IT IS THE MANUFACTURE THAT WARRANTS THE PRODUCTS. NO PRODUCT IS "STAIN PROOF" IT IS UP TO THE CONSUMER TO MAINTAIN THE APPEARANCE OF THEIR FLOORING BY CLEANING UP SPILLS AS SOON AS IT OCCURS, AND TO VACUUM ON A REGULAR BASIS. THE CONSUMER HERE IS PLACING BLAME ON US FOR STAINS ON THEIR CARPET. THESE DID NOT OCCUR DURING INSTALLATION. THE STAINING COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED BY PROPER CARE & MAINTENANCE. IT IS SOMETHING THAT WAS COMPLETELY OUT OF OUR HANDS AND CONTROL. AND SHOULD NOT IN ANY WAY REFLECT ON OUR COMPANY."

I was generally unhappy with the quality of the work and very unhappy with their unresponsiveness. They had one installer scheduled to work on our job. Apparently he become ill halfway through the work, and everything stopped for a week. One of the bedrooms had a sloping floor that was discovered after the carpet was removed. I agreed to an increase in price for them to even the floor. However, after the installation was complete there was still a noticeable slope toward one corner. Overall, the quality of the work was average. Some boards had large gaps between them, and some boards were cut too short and ended just at the edge of the baseboard. The estimate included extra baseboards since I needed them for a bathroom area with tile. Despite repeated calls, they never delivered the extra baseboards. Finally their business office called demanding final payment. I explained that I wouldn't pay until they delivered the required material. The next day I got the baseboards and paid them.

It was a 5 day job and they made it as pleasant as possible. They cleaned up after themselves each day. We had about 900 square feet of tile put in, so that price was for materials as well as installation. Everyone comments how beautiful our floors are. We love it too.

THEY WERE HORRIBLE. IT TOOK THEM 4 MONTHS. THEY TRIED THREE DIFFERENT SUPPLIERS AND NONE WORKED. IT SHOULD HAVE TAKEN 3 DAYS. THEY HAD TO RIP IT UP THREE TIMES. WE ACTUALLY NEARLY SUED THEM BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT GOING TO FIX IT THE 4TH TIME AND IT STILL WASN'T RIGHT.
