Examined our current set-up and suggested new way to plumb the new chlorinator which prevented gas buildup, and took advantage of an existing powered valve capability to remove an old check valve that was probably due to start failing. Knows his pool equipment, straightforward and reliable.

John is always very punctual and professional. The date provided is an approximate. I believe John would appreciate keeping the costs between the provider and the customer.

John replaced the pool pump and provided detailed information on its proper maintenance and operation. He provided additional information on proper pool maintenance and upkeep. John is a true professional with a friendly demeanor. Highly recommended.

John synchronized the valves for our pool/spa for proper return line flow. He managed to complete the work very quickly and at a reasonable price. He was called and hired to do the work after another company installed one new valve and said that they had properly completed the synchronization between the new and old valve. After the other company was called back a second time to do the job correctly, they left and said it worked fine. It did not! That's when John was called. He responded and took care of the problem.

What made the troubleshooting and repairs more difficult is the spa is enclosed by a gazebo - leaving only 8 - 10 inches on the side of the spa he needed to access. He was able to remove half of the screws on the side panel and hold the panel away from the spa while making the repairs. He also looked through the rest of the mechanicals checking for problems. The spa has been filled without leaking for three days and ready for use. I don't expect any further problems but if they occur - I know who to call.

Pool and Spa Repairs by John Read was a pleasure to work with. We knew the functionality we wanted, did some research online, but there are so many products available we struggled to narrow down choices to get all the functionality we wanted at the lowest price. John Read is a knowledgable contractor with great product contacts and was willing to do research. He provided us with a great, easy to operate system. John's not the cheapest bid I received, but he does the work himself and I wanted to minimize middlemen just in case there were any issues.
Our family specifically wanted to be able to remotely (via iPhone or iPad) turn on the Spa so it would be ready when we returned home. And since our pool pump recently went out, it was the perfect time to upgrade to a variable speed and save electricity running the pool. In addition we now have remote control functionality for spillways, LED colored lighting options, pump speeds, and still have expansion space if we decide to add security cameras.
Overall we are thrilled with the system that was installed and the ease of working with John Read. He is professional, cleans up after himself, and is easy to work with.

We called for an appointment to look at our new pump,He came out to see why our new pump was not doing its job. He put in for the replacement and then returned to install it.

Came out and quickly diagnosed my problems with the leaky pipes and air in the system. And I used hom again later when my pump totally died. Gave a quote to replace and reseal pipes and the pump and installed a new timer (I had an old, rusty timer). He did very excellent work and everything works very well now. He even took time to give me lessons on pool care and using the pump, heater, ice detector, vacuum, etc. Highly recommend.

Came out and looked at spa. Decovered that the heating element and Electical box needed to be replaced. I was given a bid. I went forward the parts were ordered. Spa was fix when parts came in.

He was very professional and explained what was wrong and what he did to repair it.
