"Thank you [Member Name Removed], it was a pleasure working in your beatiful home."
"Thank you [Member Name Removed], it was our pleasure."
Paul and his team (Alex, Ivan and Jose) were on point! Easy to deal with, pleasure to work with. After meeting with six different contractors Paul was the only one that was listing to what I wanted and also thinking outside the box. He and his crew gave me honest input and helped steer me in the right direction when I would let one of my crazy ideas get the best of me.
Complete kitchen remodel took about 2 months and a week. Paul was on site everyday, his crew never missed a day. His companies that he used for the cabinets and granite fabrication were awesome also. I could continue all day with how pleased I and my family are, but you get the picture.
A+, 100%, Fireworks!
Call them! You'll see!
"Thank you [Member Name Removed]! we really enjoyed working with you and your wife. Thank you for Letting us help with your new kitchen !"
Overall, I would use Regal Concepts again.
Pros:
Pauls Team hit every schedule milestone
Great quality of framing, windows, electrical, and coordination
Good team of workers, always on time and extra effort
Cons:
Interior paint was done quickly, but was under rush schedule, but needed a lot of fixing.
Our front and backyards were used as messy paint and patch clean up stations.
"The member purchased a "design consultation only" from us, which included one hour of time. The initial contact was made through Angie's list email, I responded the next day, and we had an appointment set for the same week. The only phone calls made were by me, to confirm our appointment. I did meet with the member and we discussed a few different options. I also made her aware of some work that was done by a different contractor previously, which was done without permits, incorrectly and had seriously weakened the structure, and should be corrected. I followed up with the member the next day with the email she posted above, giving a rough budget for both the bathroom and the repair work to the structure. I did not hear back from her regarding this. I emailed again to follow up, and still got no response. I assumed that she had no interest in pursuing the remodel. We do not do the hard sell, and we do not like to pressure people into making a decision. We follow up once or twice then respect the persons decision, so subsequently her project was put into our closed bid file. Once the member posted the review, I was very surprised. I did call and talk with her after she left the review,, and apparently she had somehow got the wrong phone number and had been leaving messages on a random phone line, which I of course never got. We only have one number to call, which is displayed on our web page, Facebook page and Angie's list page. Angies list also sent her our contact number when the purchase was made. It is also on our brochure and business card which I handed to her during our meeting, and on every email I send, which included the one she has posted here. We also never got also replies to any of our follow up e-mails, nor did she try to contact us through Angie's list email, which was her previous method of contact. We make a point to be as responsive as we can and always strive give the best service that we can, this is one of the reasons we have won the super service award six years running, and are one of the top rated providers in our industry on Angie's list. We did offer to refund the design consultation to her, but have not heard back. . We also have no way to check the other number she has been calling, so perhaps she is still leaving messages on it."

Paul is excellent. He is a Master Craftsman and General Contractor who got his education doing custom bars in Ireland, ya he has a cool accent.
He does the wood and cabinetry work himself, and is very picky over the people he uses for the other trades. He did our projects over several years and everything always went perfect. He is very reasonably priced, especially at the quality level of the work. He works with you to make YOU happy, and the designs and materials were always what we wanted the first time.
I would post pictures, but you can look on his website. Many of the pictures there are of our home.
As a final note, I know how to evaluate a contractor's work and pricing. I am responsible for facility management for a 50,000 employee, 3,000 site company and I manage 100's of millions in annual spend on these things. I would never hire anyone in San Diego to remodel a room, or a whole home.
"Thank you so much for the wonderful review, [member name removed]. We are so glad that you are very happy with your home! It is always a pleasure working with your family, and it has been great to get to know you all over the years. Please contact me again for anything else you may need. Sincerely, Paul Lyttle & the team at Regal Concepts & Designs"
It went extremely well. Paul is a meticulous craftsman and the remodeling included perfect eyebrow archways with encased moldings and columns as room dividers and a relocated, new fireplace. Because of his superior craftsman work, Paul would be classified as the "finisher". Since he is European born and "London Guild" trained, it shows. The architect, with whom he works, is first class. He and his architect tied in a very difficult, exterior design to incorporate the portico with the existing mansard parapet roofing.
"Dear [Member Name Removed], Thank you so very much for your kind review! We sincerely appreciate the feedback, and we are very glad that you are enjoying your remodel. Please feel free to call us if you need any work in the future. Sincerely, Paul Lyttle & the Team at Regal Concepts & Designs"
"Dear [removed member name] It has been great meeting you, Maggie, and Whiskey the dog! Thank you for the opportunity to work in your beautiful home. Sincerely, Paul Lyttle & the team at Regal Concepts & Designs"
For most of the job, things went very smoothly. We did have some delays, but they were do to problems with 1) getting 3 slabs of granite which we had to pick out 4 times because they would only have 2 slabs and we would have to wait for the next set of slabs which didn't look like then ones we liked. Or picking out 3 slabs only to get them to the manufacturer who called us because the granite had polishing circles on it. Or 2) the cabinet manufacturer was 3 weeks late getting the cabinets to us. But these things were out of Paul's control. What he did do was keep his crew working on other things while we waited for the items to come in.
One thing that was very refreshing was that Paul was very levelheaded and didn't get upset over things we wanted to change. He didn't take things personally. He would consider it, talk to his crew to get their input on the pluses and minus of the change and then talk to us to make sure we wanted to do it. He wanted us to get everything we could and worked hard to make that happen. He is a professional contractor and acts like it. The kitchen is beautiful. We are so happy with it. It just feels comfortable and also feels like it fits in with the rest of our house. The cabinets are a deep cherry and they have many things designed into them to make them functional, yet gorgeous. The crew did a great job replacing the large , slate tile around the island after they pulled it up. The kitchen really trips our trigger. Thank you, Paul and your crew, for making our dream kitchen a reality.
