Every phase was late and over budget despite multiple discussions and promises. Contractor over bought materials, charged me and then returned materials or used at other jobs with no credit to me. Asked for advance money to buy materials, then did not give credit on invoices. Demanded money before completion of project phases. Employees complained of bounced checks despite my timely payments in accordance with the contract. He told them I was not paying him, so work effectively stopped, but I was still billed for their time. Contractor removed items from the site. Poor management and poor quality. Improper materials used and unfinished work. Work not to code and failed inspections. Attempted to change the contract as it favored him. Employees were living at my property. Finally fired them less than halfway through construction. This was at 85% of the promised completion price. Had to hire another contractor to fix the mess at great expense to me.
