Tony evaluated, told me an easy fix I could do myself. Saved me money

 On a Saturday after business hours., ,my Mom's Viking refigerator stopped working. I called every large appliance repairman on the Angie's A list but nobody would make an emergency call on a Saturday- either they were too busy or were closed.  Tony answered my call right away and even though he closed at 3pm, he made a service call . He was very nice and very professional. He called to let me know he had arrived at Mom's place, and again when he was inside. He  charged his regular service fee. We were impressed with how quickly he was able to diagnose the problem with the fridge- He knew what to do, even though we had had the same appliance repaired 4 months ago by someone who hooked up the hose improperly.
I will definitely call him again whenever I need appliance repair!

He checked both refrigerators and gave me his analysis of the problem. He stated that the ice maker in the kitchen needed to be replaced and that the freezer in the garage was having a freon issue and would need to be pumped. Both of these would have been costly; especially the repair for the freezer in the garage. In total it would have been over $1000. After hearing his opinion and giving me a quote, I decided to get a second opinion with a repair company that I have used for 10 years. They came out to inspect both. The first inspector was correct in his assessment of the kitchen ice maker, but he was incorrect about the problem in the garage. It turns out that there was absolutely nothing wrong.

We called Avalon when our new home's refrigerator ice maker and ice/water dispenser wasn't working, referred by a friend. Tony (the owner) was one of the most professional appliance repair guys I've ever met. He examined the fridge carefully, did some analysis, figured out that a particular computer board had gone bad (there were several such boards), and replaced it. This thing had a ton of parts, I don't know how he knew how to find the bad part -- and then to put all those pieces back together in that cramped little space, man o man. But he did, and it worked great after that. I think any other repair guy would have replaced the entire dispenser unit and charged me a lot more. Tony took his time, thoroughly cleaned the (filthy) back of the fridge at no extra charge, and gave me some maintenance tips. I had some questions about the water filter, he took his time and answered everything clearly. Looks like he has most of the parts he needs on his truck. We later had him fix our washing machine, and again, outstanding workmanship, fair price, great experience, and some good advice on brands and types of machines (for future). He was just a really professional, skilled, clean, and nice guy, seems to have been doing this for years and is really good at it. I highly recommend him.
