David Harrington is an incredible professional who knows mortgages like the back of his hand. Extremely communicative, prompt, and will do everything he can to make the process of buying a home as efficient as possible. David is very thorough and predictive, making sure he has all the correct paperwork to increase the chances of a streamlined underwriting process. Western Reliance Funding group is not only a broker, but the bank as well, so no messy back-and-forths between different companies or large, faceless departments. Although we were based in the Torrance area, the fact that he was in Laguna Hills made absolutely no difference - he could have just been down the road based on how well he communicates.
As a quick comparative background, we had Western Finance Funding Group (WFFG) and JP Morgan Chase provide their own Good Faith Estimates, and WFFG was just as competitive (if not more so) than JP Morgan Chase with the additional benefit of extremely prompt communication (you have no idea how many times I left an unreturned message for our mortgage broker at JP Morgan Chase) and efficient. Granted, WFFG ended up selling our FHA loan to JP Morgan Chase after closing, but at least we didn't have to deal with them at the beginning (when you need one-on-one service and response times).
All-in-all, David Harrington is on the top of my list of broker recommendations and have recommended him specifically on more than one occasion. You want your broker to be on your side (but be realistic about what you can and cannot afford) and to stay on top of things: David does this every step of the way with an amazing degree of tenacity.
