The work done is absolutely beautiful! We had hardwood floors, carpeting , and tile work done. Dave guided us through every step and went out of his way to make sure we were happy. The project took about 6 weeks. I looked at other companies before I walked into Finishing Touch, and I am so happy we chose to go with The Finishing Touch. I recommend them highly and would use them again.

Dave Johnson is a dream to work with.  You won't find a nicer and more helpful guy.  His crew was very professional and efficient.  They moved furniture and cleaned up up as they worked in each area, and the floor looks beautiful and performs as advertised; it's easy to clean and hasn't been damaged in any way by my three dogs, who sometimes seem like they're trying to scratch it or leave the water bowl with their mouths full.  I strongly recommend The Finishing Touch for all of you flooring needs.

I had such high hopes for these guys! I've never had a bad experience with referrals from Angie's List so I had high expectations. Especially after calling them to inquire about the price. Donovan, was very responsive and got back to me right away and quoted me the best price on approximately 1100 square ft of engineered wood flooring. I went to pay the bill, they would not take American Express, which I found unusual but whatever. He assured me it would be delivered on Friday. Friday came, I waited for a phone call....finally,I called them to be told it wouldn't be there Friday but Monday. OOOKKAY. Monday came, tick, tick, tick..no call/no show. Again, I called (actually three times and was finally able to get a hold of Donovan) No apology. He said he could drop it off at 6pm. He did, but forgot to order the moulding that was needed-again several more calls-no apology-just and quot;it wasn't orderedand quot; I went to the store paid for the moulding. He assured me it would be delivered the next day. Promised me! That was last Friday....today is Monday and still no moulding. My guys are almost done waiting for this. Called again, was assured I would be called right back. tick, tick, tick. Horrible service, unresponsive. Is it really so hard to answer a phone call and do what you say you will? Or, call if there is an issue? I don't understand that mentality.

They never bothered to return my call requesting an estimate.

We met Dave at his store in Los Alamitos (he has four stores) and selected the laminate we wanted, which was the sample he had brought us and made arrangements for the installation. Julio and his crew arrived on time and moved the furniture into the garage. They then removed the old carpeting, sealed the concrete, installed the padding and laminate and also installed new baseboard molding in all three rooms, plus the hallway and kitchen. They were there for three days and did a very professional job. The pricing, quality of the product and installation was everything we could have hoped for. We are thrilled with the results, and so are our neighbors.
We still need to tile the fireplace, replace the carpet on the stairs and have some area rugs custom made and The Finishing Touch, and Dave Johnson, is the only place we will go.

We selected new wood laminate, ceramic tile, and moulding from their Cabot showroom. They have a very large selection of solid wood flooring at Cabot, but we went to Los Alamitos to look at a wider selection of laminates, and picked one. Both Donovan and Kyle (Johnson family members) were very friendly, and helped us in our selection. We were allowed to take samples home to insure the designs and color fit our house. The Cabot store is fairly small, and crammed with samples - but they do have a surprisingly wide selection, and can help you find what you want. They will also come to your house, if needed.
The entire destruction of our old flooring, and then installation of the new was done at a liesurely pace, at our request, however whenever we wanted action, Donovan got the materials and installers there within a day, or two.
The installers were efficient and polite, and did a good job. Our house looks great! We will use them again to install new carpeting upstairs later this year.

It was a very fair price. They are a family business and they are very reliable. They do good work.

Used the Los Alamitos location. Excellent price and installation if you can put up with the disorganized/misinformed sales staff. Excellent follow-through on getting samples. Promised to meet/beat Costco price. At first told can be delievered/installed withing 2 weeks. Came to house/measured on a Saturday - said they would get back to us. All of their notes are wriiten on spiral/composition book; nothing computerized. Called to follow-up - we'll get back to you. Went to place the order, asked for delivery date - said they couldn't tell us until we placed the order. First estimate was 4-6 weeks "It's a big order" Walked out. By the time I got home 2 phone messages - we can do it in two weeks as a rush order. Estimated time for installation - 4 hours, no problem. Actual install 9 hours. Quality of install and carpet outstanding. Replaced all of the tack strips with new. Built up the floor for transition with carpet/tile. While the sales staff are quite personable, their lack of organization and follow-through is frustrating. Very happy with the end product.

Called for a specific Anderson hardwood product. They called back to say they got a sample from their distributor and wanted to come to my house to show me. I said I would look at it at their place of business, but when I arrived, it was not Anderson hardwood, was not the thickness or the width I wanted. They tried to convince me that this was the product I really wanted. Told them no, that I wanted a specific Anderson product, the one I asked them to order samples of. They told me that they would get the product that I wanted by the next business day and wanted to come to my house to show me. Again, said no, and that I would look at it in their shop. Came back the next week - not only did they not order the samples, but they pretended they ordered them --- Caught them because they didn't even know what wood species the product they supposedly ordered came in. Save your time and find a different flooring supplier.

I called several different places to get a bid for the job. Many made an appointment and never showed up. This company showed up and provided a bid. Initially we decided against the company since the bid was the highest from all others. After a while, we decided to pair down the job and called back this company for a new bid and job start. The second time they showed up, we quickly went through what was needed, finalized a bid and had a job done in a few days. The only part that I wish could have gone better is the post finish cleaning and dusting. This company did clean up the painting material but we had to do extensive dusting and vacuming to finish up the work.

They did a great job of installation of hardwood and carpeting. They gave a fair price. They were personable, warm and friendly.

I WAS REALLY UNSURE OF WHAT TO BUY AND THE SALES PERSON WENT OUT OF HIS WAY TO COME BACK TO MY HOUSE TO SEE WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT. WE WENT BACK TO THE SHOP AND HE PICKED OUT THE PERFECT CARPET AND COLOR FOR WHAT I NEEDED.
