Beyond my expectations. They did an exceptional job of prepping the house before painting. The workers were on time every day, cleaned up at the end of every day and were very professional. You can't go wrong with this company!

Irish Painting Co Inc seems to have done a fair job. They were pretty much working all the time they were here. Their foreman kept checking with me constantly if things were going okay for me. What I didn’t like is that the owner wasn’t really involved. Though he kept telling me that he was available, he wasn’t available on site at all. I have called him and left him messages several times. There were incidents on the job site that shouldn’t have happened. There was water everywhere in my house. They left the water heater on which could have burnt my house up. I kept finding trash all over my property. That shouldn’t happen; the crew should have been cautious and clean. In fact I remember that the owner had told me that he had a good crew before we started with the project. I understand the fact that anybody can make a mistake. I had shown the trash to the owner once before but he did not admit that I had shown it to him. We are at the final stages with the work right now. However, the owner showed up at seven in the morning and asked me for a check even before the job had been completed. He kept pushing that the work was complete. He told me that he needed to pay his contractors. I felt that he was very pushy. I sent him a very detailed email about what I expected from them, about the final payment and also what happened with the water heater. However, he denied of receiving any of my emails. One Friday night I got a message that he would be coming by the next morning to do a final walk through at eight o’ clock. I called him back and asked him if he could make it at 9am instead of 8am because I hadn’t had the chance to walk the property, look at the job or anything like that. By then of course I got up really early and made sure that I was there. I noticed a piece of wood on an area by the stairs that had a hole in it. I showed it to him, he looked at it and asked me if I wanted him to fix it to which I replied yes. Then he comes back and tells me that it will be an additional $400 to fix it. I told him that I never approved it as extra work for me to pay him. At the end of all that we agreed that both of us would bear half of the expense to get the hole fixed. That kind of attitude doesn’t make me very happy. Also, not once ever in this job did he call me to say if he could meet with me. He did not once do that to check the job with me. The only way I got to know things were from his foreman or from the occasional emails. When he had originally quoted the job he told me that he would start by the end of February and finish by March. I was concerned about the weather and asked him if the weather would affect the job. He was very sure that the weather will not affect his job. The paint is still soft where they have used egg shells and things. It’s still not dried up. So, I’m concerned that the paint is not going to hold up. He does provide a warranty which is a good thing but I don’t have it on paper. I’m just a little bit worried about that already. At this point we have scheduled meeting next Saturday morning. I want to see how we take things from there. When I told him that I wanted an affidavit for inducement to make the payment, he told me that he could find it and had probably lost it. These are some of the things that any contractor should know about. I think that at this point the problem is really with the attitude of the owner himself as opposed to the workmanship. The fact that he is faulting of the required paper work is something that I don't get because that is the only guarantee I have if someone has to come after me later. I wasn’t happy with the whole experience. The crew did a good job but the owner’s attitude threw me off. I would only consider using them in the future if the owner shows some improvement in his attitude.
