The washing machine wasn't pumping out the water. It ran through the cycle, just didn't pump.
We knew the cost before hand to just come out, $75. We told him what the problem was and he got to work. Not a talkative kind of guy, much to my husbands dismay. My husband likes to find out what they are doing and generally chit-chat. This guy was all business and just worked. He did answer any questions. (This was fine with me, I'm not the talker in the family.)
He drained out the water, tipped up the washer and got to work. He eventually found an old rusty large paperclip that was the culprit. It cost us another $100 for the work, but way cheaper than purchasing a new washer!
He put everything back together answered some questions about the washing machine. And left.
The automatic detergent dispenser in my dishwasher had become clogged because I had inadvertently mixed two different types of detergent (as the manufacturer specifically instructs you not to do.) Since it was going to require disassembly of the door to solve the problem, I called All American Appliance Repair. I had used them a year ago to solve a problem with my refrigerator, and was so pleased with the entire experience that I was happy to call them to service my dishwasher. I did not even consider calling anyone else.
Ray was at my home in less than a half hour from when I spoke with him over the phone to request service. He was very pleasant and professional the entire time. He took the dishwasher door apart, cleaned all of the clogged areas, reassembled the door, then ran the dishwasher briefly to ensure it was functioning properly. The entire process took less than an hour. He was noticeably careful to clean up after his work.
I am very happy with this service from start to finish, and will definitely call All American Appliance again if I have any further appliance failures.
On Saturday afternoon, I discovered that my refrigerator was no longer cooling. (The ice dispenser spewed water instead of cubes!) My unit is still eligible for warranty parts, so I looked on the LG website for an authorized repair service. All American was one of two companies listed for my area. When I found All American on Angie's List with good reviews, I decided to call them first. I left a message on Saturday afternoon, and was pleasantly surprised to receive a return call within an hour, despite the fact they don't work on Saturdays. Andy said he could come out on Monday and that he would call me Monday morning to tell me what time.
The only hiccup in the day is that he didn't call me; I called him shortly before 11:00 to find out if I was still on the schedule. After reminding him of our phone call on Saturday, he found his notes and promised he would be here between noon and 3. He called about 2:30 and showed up just before 3:00.
He came in and got right to work. Diagnosed the problem, replaced the failed part, put it back together and cleaned up after himself. Very efficient and economical with his time, and he's not a chatterbox (which has been known to slow down the process when that was the case with other providers.)
