They trashed my place.  Here is what happened:
During my construction it was discovered, by my GC, that a pipe for the above unit could leak at some point and suggested to the owner/HOA that it could be repaired while my wall was apart. They came to do the work while I was NOT present.
I had a sign on my master bedroom door that said DO NOT ENTER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. There is back a way to get through my bedroom to the kitchen via a terrace.
They did the following:
1) Cut through ceiling and ceiling heat ib Master Bedroom when told NOT TO ENTER OR TOUCH and there were heating wires in the ceiling and to access through a different (specified) area instead, creating tremendous damage to the just painted walls and to the ceiling on the terrace and ripping out ceiling heat wires.
(my building agreed to pay for it to be repainted )
2) Broke my screen door to other terrace (I was stuck with a $195 bill to replace
3) Left a huge mess, which they were asked to clean up by my contractor or they would have to and that I would be upset.  The response from the plumber was "She'll get over it" 
And they left all the damage and mess!
Additionally, my GC had to redo much of the plumbing they did, because my sink hook ups would have been behind the wall, with no way to hook up faucets and drain, etc.
