Very well. Workers came on time, were clean and quiet. Quick and responsive to hidden concerns on floor. Issues of extra demo and protective barriers handled efficiently. I was advised of costs prior to work being done.

I have found out that placing tile is a true art. If you have a flat strong surface and some plain tile you can stick on it, then pretty much anyone with a little experience should do. Once you leave that area, it can become a little tricky. If you enter the realm of hand made tiles, or any patterns (borders, ect.), other than just straightforward tile, you really need to be careful about who you choose. Truly the most important work of tile installation is done before the tile actually goes up on the wall. Trust me, I have learned all of this the hard way. It is so crazy to me that many people will tell you that of course they know how to do something, but then they hit about the middle of the job and one eye starts to twitch, and as they say things start looking a little dazed and confused. I have had to tear tile out and redo it. Many tile installers use a type of backer board to hold the tile that eventually absorbs water and you will have a failure in that part of the wall. You probably won't see any problems for years, but however sealed, tile and grout are porous and eventually the water will seep through. I haven't recommended anyone before this as I consider it a real responsibility to give honorable and good advice. I can tell you a couple of things about Dan. First, you will never meet a nicer fellow. Secondly, tile is expensive and installation is important. He has dealt with all types of homes and all manner of tiles. It is really a joy not to have to worry if he is doing a good job - you don't even have to think about it any more. Thirdly, he has been living in the same city, with the same business, with the same employees (and now their children work for him) for 30 years. He is very well thought of in our community and quite stable. He even went back to school and received his contractor's license to have more education in his field along with continuing to pursue all educational opportunities in the tile field itself. Personally I just like the fact that I can ask him to do a job and I know I don't have to have another concern about it. Dan can handle anything that comes along. I also know that he will be there if I ever have a problem or another need. To me that provides great peace of mind and makes all the difference in the world.
