My teak table has four detachable legs. When my friend reassembled it for me, he overtightened it enough to pull the bolt half an inch out of the wood of one of the legs, splintering the wood in the process. I took the damaged leg to Carey Stephens, who said he would use some industrial strength glue that sets up "like concrete," and that it would take a couple of days. Two days later he called to let me know that he had not gotten to it and that it would be ready in another couple of days. Perfectly OK, I had told him that I wouldn't need the table for weeks or months--it's an old "overflow" table. I picked up the leg today and am very very pleased with the result. There is no trace at all of the splintered wood; the leg looks literally as good as new. Carey had asked what kind of wood it was, and on his own initiative refinished the leg, with no extra charge.
