On about August 5, 2010 I contacted Michael Martin at Unified Pacific Mortgage to refinance my house. This company pulled a credit report on me and quoted me a very competitive rate (4.125%) and Loan Origination Fees of $1900 to refinance my house. I paid $340.00 for an appraisal and the appraisal came in where I needed it to get the loan amount I wanted. When they sent the closing documents on October 1, 2010, the interest rate was at 4.5% and the Loan Oringination Fees were $7,980.10.
The company said I would still be saving money at that rate and it was still a good deal. I told them I've purchased several homes, and refinanced 4 times and have never been quoted a rate and have it change at closing. I cancelled the deal and went with another company. They would not return my $340.

They were good about it. There were just so many things that you can get charged for when refinancing and cashing out. The representative was very professional. He explained things to me. He was very efficient and got it done. He was easy to work with. It was the best rate we could find as far as the interest rate and the cost of the loan was concerned.
