Following heavy rains I noticed that our yard drains were clogged. I contacted my plumber (Eastlake Plumbing of Chula Vista, CA) and asked that they clear the pipes. They said that type of work could be better performed by Xtreme Drainworks. I then contacted Xtreme Drainworks and scheduled service. They stated that the cost would be $425. The two men assigned to do the work arrived on the date and time scheduled and attempted to clear the pipes. They were courteous and worked hard but could not clear the pipes because of a heavy amount of roots that had grown into the pipes. They then wanted to charge me $590 for the work because they said that they had worked for three hours, not the normal two hours. I said that was not the quoted price and they quickly agreed to the price of $425. The bottom line is that they were unsuccessful in clearing the drain pipes but still charged me $425. I have two issues with this service. First, they did not have equipment for cutting the roots inside the pipes and secondly they should have told me before hand that if they could not clear the pipes that a reduced price (not the full price) would be charged.

"Hello [Member Name Removed], Sorry to hear you where not happy with my service, however your storm system not only had heavy heavy roots but also had a broken connection and there is no equipment that will clear a broken pipe, we worked really hard trying to get your system to flow but you have never maintained your storm system and that is not something that is under my control, we do charge for our time and even dug up the area where your roots where intruding the system, we dont ussualy dig up any pipes but i wanted to at least get you flowing, I informed you of what needed to be done in order to continue clearing the rest of the system, however you failed to mention that we where able to clear the east side of your system that also had heavy root intrusions. Im sorry you feel that way about our charge and service but we really work hard to clear systems that other companies wont even try to clear. My reviews here on Angies list and other sites speak for our business and customers know that some things are beyond our control, we do have te equipment to clear drains being that our business is a drain cleaning service only and storm drain lines are diferent than sewer systems just like i showed you on site your pipes dont even have glue on them allowing roots to intrude and grow in your pipes for the last 18 years. You might find out with the rest of your pipes in the back yard which are also heavily intruded that you might have to dig up other areas and you will find out that my self or any other company can not clear a broken pipe. We called at 11:30 a.m. and our call was returned within 30 minutes. Brian came out at 4 p.m. that same day. He cleaned our bathtub drain and the work was completed in in less than 30 minutes. Brian is very personable and efficient.

He arrived within the 1/2 hour of calling! That alone impressed me. I had out of town guests, so timing was important. Rod was friendly, professional, and courteous. He went right to work and was finished in no time. I would call them again in a heartbeat!

Call returned within 30 min on a Sunday and came by a couple of hours later. Rod was very knowledgeable and professional. Cleared the drain, charged a very reasonable price and was off to the next appt.

My wife and I moved into a new house and 4 days later we discovered that our main line was severely clogged. The technician's name was Rod, and he was very professional. We called him at 7:30pm, and he showed up at 8:00, cleaned out the drain, and cleaned up after he was done. He gave me a bunch of helpful tips on dealing with the problem in the future. The price was very reasonable especially since we called after hours and he showed up so promptly.

The technican, Jerry, provided service above and beyond what was expected. Not only was he on time and courteous, he was very thorough in all that he did. He cleared the clogs from 2 parts of my kitchen drain, cleaned up everything he touched, and put everything back in place. Plus the cost was much less than I expected. There is no doubt that in the future when I have clogged drains that I am going to call Xtreme Drain. Plus, Brian, the owner, was very helpful in scheduling me and giving me about a 1-hour window of when his technican would show up, which is much better than most companies 4-hour window. I am an extremely satisfied customer.
