it is mainly a discussion so you will want to be on site during the project to work through it as they build to ensure you agree on the design choices. He is thorough and well experienced, he had a crew of guys help him as there were a lot of rocks and boulders to move around make sure you have a place to bring them in. His style of waterfall is very natural looking if that is what you want. They did a great job and we are very happy with our end product. He had a different guy Leo build the fire pit who was very easy to work with and communicated well ask questions along the way about the design choices. They did an awesome job!
We had a backyard dirt slope that was impossible to water or grow plants on and was the only eyesore of our recently renovated and beautiful old home. We decided a water feature with boulders and waterfalls would be the answer. We called Robert at Pacific Dreamscapes. He came over and we collaborated on the design. The main concern for us was that it look natural. Robert assured us that it would. He and his two-man crew arrived a few days later and began by shaping the slope by hand. In the course of a couple days they had removed 2 or 3 truckloads of dirt and had begun laying down the liner used to prevent erosion and waterproof the slope. Then they brought in the first of several truckloads of beautiful San Diego county boulders. We only had a narrow pathway leading to the site, so, one by one, they hand-trucked the boulders down the path. Some of the boulders were huge, but all were moved, by hand, down the pathway and set into their carefully selected positions. No mortar is used in the process. The water plants and surrounding foliage were set in and a drip irrigation system installed. Small night lights were placed in strategic locations. You vary the flow of the waterfalls with a remote control. Robert is an artist and the finished product reflects this. The whole job only took 7 working days.
We couldn't be more pleased with the work of Robert and his crew. It looks very natural, sounds relaxing and the birds use it all day long.
Previously we had a koi pond that had a waterfall that always seemed to develop leaks. We decided to have the
pond and waterfall removed and have a smaller water feature created. I say ‘created’ because this is what Robert
Cramer, owner of Pacific Dreamscapes, did for us. We had a couple of meetings with Robert and discussed our ‘vision’. I had special
requirements which included a safe place for grandchildren to play, a place to sit and enjoy the water, an area for a couple of goldfish and a safe haven for my bullfrog of 4 years.
Robert listened, took notes, provided pictures of previous water features and also asked us to look at a water feature he was currently working on. We really liked what we saw. We discussed price, timeline, materials, etc. We signed an agreement. Robert and crew started as scheduled. Every day they worked all day and every evening they cleaned up all the mess. The
entire crew was professional and very respectful of our home. They were awesome. Not only did Robert design a beautiful water
feature that exceeded ALL our requirements, they also installed a sprinkler system, sod and constructed two stucco walls with iron gates. Everything was completed on time and ON BUDGET. The project was completed seven months ago and as the vegetation grows it just keeps getting better. Since completion we have called Robert with a couple of questions. He is quick to respond and is always so helpful.
We highly recommend Pacific Dreamscapes.
