La Mesa Appliance Repair

My elderly mother called La Mesa Appliance to come out to look at her dishwasher that was leaking water and making a terrible noise. The "technician" came out "evaluated" the machine, basically listened to the horrible noise it was making and told her that it was unfixable and she should buy a new dishwasher from them. He didn't trouble shoot the problem, just listened. This is a newish dishwasher, not inexpensive. My mom said she would think about it and gave them a check for $79.95.
My brother came out and took a look at the unit, here is what he found.......... A rat had pulled a plastic bag into the bottom of the machine to make a house. The rat chewed up the styrofoam emergency shut off float which pushes the emergency shut off float which pushes the emergency shut off switch up. The fix: $.0.97 cent part and the removal of the plastic bag.
This guy did not even look into the machine!!!!!!!! At least we found where the rat was living. For more interesting reading about this company go to Yelp and read the filtered comments. Lowe's contracts with them for warranty work. BEWARE.
