Overall, the project was completed to my satisfaction, after mutiple calls to the company, a visit from the Owner's son, and considerable damage to my property that had to be repaired. I have to say that Jackson and Foster was very concerned about me as a customer and making sure I was satisfied with the job they did. However, it would have been better customer service to ensure they did the job correctly the first time so they didn't have to win back my approval. It started even before I had hired them. The Operations Manager who did the estimate was nearly impossible to get on the phone to hire in the first place. I called him to tell him I wanted to go with his company, but could he shave anything off the quote - he asked if he could call me back, I said of course. I didn't hear anything back from him for three days. On the first day of what was supposed to be a two-day installation, the primary installer was sick, according to the assistant who was the only person that showed up. He then called me at work throuout the day to tell me he couldn't place a vent in the kitchen, and that the return air vent needed to be moved to in front of the bathroom door (everyone I talked to said do NOT place the return in front of a bathroom). After a call and to the manager, I was able to have both the kitchen vent and the return relocated. After the job was completed, the system worked fine, I was very pleased, except that the installer used my attic access for the AC return (according to our aggreement), but had not cut another attic access (not our agreement). I was also concerned the compressor in the back yard was not sitting flat, but was tilted toward the house. I was told later by Jand F that levelling the ground under the compressor would result in puddling and that there was no problem with the compressor being at a tilt. The response to my email enquiry by the manufacturer whold heartedly disagreed with the Jand F assessment and said to get them back out to level it. A few days after the installation, I woke in the night to a dripping sound - I walked into the living room to find a huge blister in the ceiling about the size of a basketball. the AC system was leaking condensation.Calling Jand F at 12am, I was surprised to get a return call about an hour later from the tech on call. We both knew there wasn't anything he could do for me, but to call and placate me was a point in their favor. The same tech came to my house the next day to observe the situation for himself, assuring me the problem was going to be solved. I told him I still wanted the owner to come see for himself. The owners son came out the next day and I let him have it with all the problems Id seen and how disappointed I was, and he assured me everything would be corrected and they fixed the AC on the spot. Two days later, I had a drywaller in my house replacing the damaged ceiling. He replaced about 1/4th of the ceilng in the living room, textured the celing, cut a new access to the attic, and repaired the holes in the walls created by the removal of the old thermostats. A few days later, painters came and painted the entire living room ceiling and bedroom ceiling where the new access was created. The compressor was levelled. The repairs were first rate, it's impossible to see where the repairs in the ceiling were made. I think Jackson and Foster did a great job of making good on their responsablilty to return my house to its proper shape with a new HVAC installed. That being said, it would have been so much nicer if I didn't have to pester them into doing the job right in the first place - There were several little unprofessional portions of the job that I didn't mention here - For example, they said they would use an exist furnace exhaust to vent out my roof, but instead the cut a new exhaust - and the vent pipe extended out my roof at least 6 feet. I had to have them trim it back to a more reasonable height. The patches to my walls were sloppy and unprofessional. In the end it was all done right and I am extremely satisfied, it just would have been better had it been done right the first time.
