The problem was the paint job they did wasn't done correctly and quickly deteriorated the wood on my house, causing need for major repairs.

I had so many problems and such an unpleasant experience, I would not recommend this company under any circumstances. In a nutshell, they didn't show up on time, then showed up without my knowing and wandered around my property, painted some of the wrong colors on my house (they were supposed to match the existing colors and paint a swatch to make sure the colors matched, which they said they'd do and then refused), took some of the paint cans with left over paint that I had purchased, painted some of the exterior ground in my garden which they didn't clean up, and then they yelled and screamed at me and then threatened me when I told them I would write a bad report, and I am still waiting for a " life-time guarantee" which I was promised and should have been given to me at the end of the job.

Their workers did an outstanding job, but their sales reps don't understand the meaning of the words "get to the point". I asked them several times to tell me how much it's going to cost me and they kept avoiding the question and kept jabbering on about their product. One of the sales reps noticed that I was getting very irritated and finally gave me and estimate for $17,000. I told them that I could not afford that at this time, but once again, they seem to not understand those words. They kept pestering me about how it would increase the value of my house and how if I agree to buy now then they would drop the price a couple grand. I told them "no" and sent them away. I recieved a phone call a day or two later from them asking if they could stop by and give me a lower price. I agreed, and this time they sent someone who understands English a little better. His name was Mike and he was very proffessional. He measured the surface area of my house and gave me a quote for $12,000 without all the talking. I agreed to that price and signed the papers.
The workers came out a couple of days later and began tearing off the old wood siding. They were proffessional and polite. The house looks amazing now! I really think it's worth the money.

Their process of patching all the cracks in the old plastered
walls, putting fresh concrete/plaster on the footings, after digging out
about 6" all around the house...replacing termite and water damaged wood on
the front of our home...and after a couple of questions that they fixed
immediately, they ended up doing an excellent overall coating/painting job.
We chose this very nice, grayish/green for the walls..called "Forest Khaki,
and we trimmed it with all white trim, and it looks very complimentary to
the palm trees and other green plants in our yard. We have had several
compliments from our neighbors as they walked buy and viewed the progress and
that they loved the color, too. Several of them are interested in pursuing
this company for their own 'new home look'. We are very happy with all there
work and would definitely recommend this Nu-Cote company in the future. They
came back to do a little more clean up before we gave them the final
payment. They definitely tried to please at all times. Thank YOU Nu-Cote
crew, for a job well done. They also installed a small door in the garage.

NuCote failed to do the following steps in their 10-step process:
Step 2: ?Trench around the perimeter of home.?
Step 3: ?Sand, scrape and remove all old layers of paint from the surface?
Step 4: ?Repair and Patch. Corrects surface defects. Creates a sound and uniform surface for coating?
Step 5: ?All doors, shrubs, trim, windows, lawn area and surfaces not to be coated are carefully covered.?
Step 7: ?Entire house is carefully inspected for quality and missed areas. Assure proper thickness and uniform appearance?
Step 8: ?Special application process assures even distribution of color coating for a beautiful surface.?
Step 10: ?Your property is left tidy, clean and beautiful?

"I have been in business for over 35 years. Contractors beware! Member is trying to falsely have his money returned that we earned doing an outstanding job. No where were we removing all old paint. All the preparation was done professionally. This house is a showplace. They tried to have the charges returned to them through the charge card company and they found in our favor to keep the money for our wonderful job. To prove our job is correct and professional, we have the Tex-Cote factory technician going there to take samples, opbservations, and then the project will be tested both chemically and microscopically. I will post those findings gladly. We will be happy to have anyone visit the site to see for themselves. Just give me a call and I will give you the address as a reference for you to see the lovely work we do. I believe Member is asking to be sued for this type of false claims that are hurtful to our great reputation. Member has never once called our office himself. All this harrassment goes through his secretary and we have asked to meet with him at the property to no avail. The steps of the job were all filmed. We have copious photos describing all the steps we did. We will be happy to share them with any legitimate inquiry that asks to see them. This is one of those attempts to beat the contractor. We did our job well, used ample material, the wood trim looks new and the stucco, though a 50 to 60 year old home, is well done and protected from the elements. The Coolwall material is proven by the Dept. of Energy to save on utilities up to 21%. The Member company simply wants to try to not pay $28000.00. The credit card company was too smart for this type of attempt and found in favor for us to have been paid. Folks, sometimes these sites are used by errant customers in an attempt to take advantage of the Contractor. Thank goodness Angie's List allows the Company to respond and be viewed by the consumers. I Love Angie's List. I, as president of the company, feel vindicated. I can, through Angie's List, prove to anyone that our payment is well deserve. Not only do they have a lovely job, but they now have a material that has a factory material warranty for free lifetime warranted material, and the Nu-Cote labor warranty in case their are service issues. Our overall experience with Nu Cote was excellent. From the Sales person, Kevin Anderson, who explained the product and process completely. The work crew was here at the designated time and completed each procedure. Every step of the way our Project Manager, Gery Oeffner, was there inspecting the house and we signed off on each step. Our house looks great!!

It went very well. The work crew was wonderful to work with, easy going but stil professional. The foreman was very pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful. They had us sign off during each step of the process: the pressure washing, repair of cracks in the stucco, and sanding any wood that they replaced.

I made an appointment with Nu-cote for an estimate for new double pane windows after receiving a call from them checking on some work I had done on a rental property. They were on time, and gave me an estimate that was higher than the one I had gotten from home depot but the windows were better quality (low E3) and they were able to do my sliding glass door. It took about 3 weeks for them to get the windows in and they were installed the following week. Installation went fast and the windows fit and look great!

Nu-cote follow-up: After our service in 2005, I?ve had two occasions to call upon Nucote in the last year, for touch up jobs. In both cases, the service exceeded my expectations. The personnel were on time, did quality work, finished when agreed, and were pleasant as could be. It didn't cost me much, but they treated me like a preferred customer. The service was so extraordinary that I took the time to write the company a complimentary letter.

I have had the opportunity to hire a number of contractors over the last 30 years. From room additions to bathroom renovations, to kitchen remodeling, and I can honestly say that Nu-Cote is by far the best company I have ever had the pleasure of hiring. We first met the salesman, Michael Martinez, an absolutely delightful young man, who carefully explained in detail every aspect of the Tex-cote system-from how the company was started, how the system worked, how the process was done, to how long it would take. After the usual paperwork he told us to expect a call from the company within the week. We received a call, with in the week, from Field Supervisor Jerry Enfinger who informed us he would be by on Monday. AND HE CAME BY ON MONDAY! He met with us-explained what to expect over the next few days and said that the work would be done by Friday, and guess what?? THE WORK WAS DONE ON FRIDAY!!! Jerry was terrific; coming by the house often, keeping a watchful eye on the proceedings. And then there was the crew, the wonderful guys, Matteo and Sergio, who did all the hard hands-on work; these two are the greatest! Nice, skilled, polite --what a team!! The whole experience has to be the best I have ever had with a company. Nu-Cote--in my book YOU are the Champions of the World!

They had two teams, one for windows, one for texcoating the house. Both teams were very good and had great team leaders. They got the job done quickly with amazing attention to detail, and made sure we were happy every step of the way.

When I got estimates to paint our house, Nu-Cote was not the least expensive. In addition, their record on Angie's list was not good, so we told them we decided not to hire them. Subsequently, the owner called and I explained why I was not hiring Nu-Cote. She assured me that the problems had occurred when they were in the kitchen remodeling business and they were much better now. She asked me to try them and assured me they would do a good job. I was attracted by the lifetime warranty on the paint, so I agreed to try Nu-Cote. It was a very good decision. They started on time; the crew was dependable, professional, considerate, and most importantly did an outstanding job.

HIRED SUBCONTRACTORS WHO DIDN'T KNOW THEIR JOB, DIDN'T SUPERVISE THEM PROPERLY. MY QUESTIONS WERE IGNORED. TREATED CUSTOMERS LIKE IDIOTS. NO COMMUNICATION AS TO WHEN WORKERS WERE SHOWING UP, WHEN THEY WERE LEAVING, WHO WAS GOING TO CLEAN UP. SUNNY DAYS WENT BY W/ NO WORK DONE BECAUSE COMPANY THOUGHT IT MIGHT RAIN. THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST COMPANY WE HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED IN OUR 14 YRS OF HOME OWNERSHIP! OUR CONTRACT WAS SIGNED 5/21/04. IT TOOK UNTIL 9/6/04 TO HAVE THE DEMOLITION SCHEDULED. ON THAT DATE THEY DIDN'T SHOW UP OR CALL. WHEN I CALLED THEM, THEY SAID THE TRUCK BROKE DOWN. THIS IS ONE EXAMPLE OUT OF NUMEROUS PROBLEMS WE HAVE HAD FOR A YR. TO DATE 5/2/05 THE JOB IS STILL NOT COMPLETED. LISTED BELOW ARE SOME OF THE PROBLEMS WE'VE HAD. THERE ARE TOO MANY FOR THIS REPORT. CHANGED THE QUALITY OF OUR CABINETS W/O CONSULTING US. THE CABINETS WERE SUPPOSED TO COME IN COMPLETED AND HUNG. WE WERE TOLD IT WOULD ONLY TAKE ABOUT 3 WEEKS TO COMPLETION. INSTEAD THEY GAVE US UNCOMPLETED CABINETS AND STUCK CHEAP LAMINATE ON WITH GLUE. WRONG SIZE ON A FEW CABINET DOORS, WRONG GLASS, CABINETS NOT CENTERED TO WINDOW SURROUNDING IT. WRONG SIZE CABINETS. ALL THESE ITEMS HAD TO BE REORDERED. ONLY WORKED ABOUT 2 HRS A DAY. SOMETIME NO WORK FOR A FEW WEEKS. REALLY BAD CUSTOMER RELATIONS.

IT IS A SPECTACULAR ADDITION TO THE KITCHEN AND WAS NOT PART OF THE ORIGINAL CONTRACT. IN SPITE OF THE THE TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES AND VARIOUS CHALLENGES THE END RESULT IS ONE THAT WE CAN BE PROUD OF."

NO OTHER CONTRACTOR ASKED TO BID. TOOK THEIR TIME. NEW TO THE COMPANY CREWS MOST OF TIME. LONG TIME BETWEEN CREWS. I HAD TO CORRECT WORK DONE AND TO GET IT FINISHED. DID IT MYSELF THEY SENT A LARGE BURLEY MAN OUT TO COLLECT THE FINAL PAYMENT WHEN I SAID I THOUGHT THEY OWED ME $3000. THE KITCHEN IS 10 FT X 12 FT AND I HAD NO SINK FOR THREE MONTHS. I WIRED THE RANGE AND INSTALLED THE PLUMBING FOR THE SINK SO THAT IT WOULD GET DONE SOONER.
