Oh no… After an online search, I found On Call Water Heaters and in no time I was texting with NATALIA, who shared her expertise, pricing, and was genuinely helpful. I immediately trusted her and she did not disappoint. A few hours later, I had my problem solved and I had invested in the best value option. Mega-recommended.

Having somehow gotten 15 years out of our water heater, the puddle underneath it one morning let us know we couldn't wait any longer to replace it. Checked around and finally found On Call Water Heaters, and the process couldn't have been smoother. Quick, responsive, communicative, and able to come out and get the job done the same day. With so many companies seemingly booked up this time of year, it was a relief to be able to get this taken care of so quickly and so well. The installer had to create a rather bizarre pipe setup to accommodate the existing drain pipe that now makes it harder to access the light switch right behind it, but it's a small inconvenience for having been able to get a new unit installed the same day.

The service from On Call Water Heaters was exceptional. They were very prompt and repaired my broken water heater quickly despite the fact that it was later than normal business hours. The communication was great and kept me informed of the status of the technician and what services were provided. All this during a sensitive Covid19 period.

I got quotes from all three and the reason I went with On Call Water Heaters was not only because of the price but mostly due to their genuine commitment to the job. Natalia was available anytime I called and kept me updated during the entire process. The installation went according the plan, Rafael's consultation was very informative and according to my water demands and other things we were able to select my New Rheem Tankless Unit. What stood out about the technician was his recommendation to relocate the unit to a much more suitable outdoor location. Relocating the water heater would take more work and was not something I had considered in my budget. Despite not having the funds to move forward with the relocation, he still provided me the service at no additional cost. I was hesitant to mention this. This is not something they are required to do. I just thought it was so neat how he gave me thought and wanted to the best outcome for my new tankless installation. You don't get this very often, if at all. I hope to have shown you the value of doing business with an honest genuine company. I recommend anyone in need of any water heater service to give them a chance.

Hired this company to replace my water heater and also to install a pressure regulator to my water main. While there were some positives to the experience, overall, I feel like an honest, non-compensated review would be helpful to others who are considering these guys. First, I'll list the positives. While On Call wasn't the cheapest, they also were far from the most expensive. I ended up with a water heater that (I believe) is a good one. And while there were several issues throughout the process, I believe Natalia is a well-intentioned person. Now, onto the issues/concerns. First, and I chalk this up to my inexperience, is that they don't take care of securing a city permit before doing the work. Given that I had other projects involving city permits where the contractors handled that, I was surprised to find out, after the fact, that they didn't do this. To be honest, I don't know if that's standard practice with other water heater folks, but I think it's good practice to at least state upfront to customers whether they plan to secure a permit. If they had secured a permit, then I'm sure they would've installed the water heater properly. As it is, though, what I ended up getting was an installation that would not pass an inspection. They did not bother putting the cover back onto the water heater, which is illegal. They left the relief valve exposed, which is against code. And simple things such as positioning the water heater properly was overlooked. It will cost me a ton of money to resolve the issues from the shoddy installation, which makes me realize I should've just hired someone else to do it right from the get-go. Another issue is that constant need on my part to follow up to get a timely/accurate response to things. From making sure they showed up to the appointment on-time to getting paperwork for the extended warranty to getting answers to simple questions, I just had to spend way too much time to get follow-through on things that should've been done automatically. Another biggest issue, however, was the result of their putting the pressure regulator on my water main. The problem stemmed from their on-site estimator making a wrong assumption on pipe fitting, which then led to the actual installer having to jerry-rig some makeshift solution on the spot. It's hard to describe in words, but the end result was a ridiculous looking configuration that rendered a key feature of my front porch unusable, since the height of the pipes went from a few inches off the ground to about a foot high. To Natalia's credit, she did try to get the installer to remedy this, but at that point, they already felt like they undercharged me so I don't think they tried their hardest to do the job properly. I ended up having to hire another plumber and paying hundreds of dollars to fix their handiwork. The above is reflective of my caution with this company for others. Again, I felt like they had some level of genuine interest in addressing the poor workmanship, but there really shouldn't have been poor workmanship to begin with. Also, I don't love that some of the reviews for this company were submitted by employees and their family members. And the company offers a $10 off per review incentive to customers, which is tempting as a customer, but ultimately not very ethical as a business.
