The technician determined that my system was low on Freon and proceeded to recharge my system. He did not evacuate the system, which I later learned through research is an industry standard for recharging a HVAC system. As he was charging the system, he checked the evaporator in the attic for oily residue and any other signs of leakage. He found none. After checking the evaporator and also the condenser coils, he found that both "king" valve caps, located adjacent to the Schrader valves used for filling the system, were loose. He was determined that this was most likely the cause. I later learned that these are only dust caps and have nothing to do with the "king" valves functionality. I also learned that the "king" valves are used during shipping to ensure that the Freon stays in the condenser coil and are later opened fully for installation. The technician left and said everything looked ok otherwise and that if I noticed my air temperature warming up again to give him a call back.

A few months later I began the process of selling my home and the home inspector determined that my differential between the HVAC return and the duct outlet was only 10 degrees F. It is supposed to be 18-20 degrees per industry standard. The inspector marked this down in his report. The buyer's realtor made a comment that I had recently charged my system and I wondered how she knew this when we had not gotten to the disclosures part of the sale. I soon was informed by my buyer's realtor that the technician who had serviced my HVAC was friends with her client and had not only told him about the Freon leak, but that my system was "backwards" and that something was seriously wrong with it and that he shouldn't buy my house. I informed her that he had said nothing about my system being "backwards" and had said everything looked fine other that the dust caps were loose on my "king" valves. Another HVAC technician came out and verified that that it was not "backwards' and that he had no idea what the other guy was talking about. He did say that it was a little low on Freon and offered to do a leak test. After performing a leak test, no leaks were found. The technician recharged the system (after evacuating it), replaced the Schrader valves and also added a leak stop product.

Do not use this company. He obviously was willing to continue to come out and recharge my system, incorrectly, and never research the issue. He never mentioned that my system was "backwards" and something was seriously wrong with it to me, so why did he say that to his friend. He almost cost me the sale of my house and the purchase of another. Unprofessional at the least. Also, I was unable to find any other reviews on this contractor anywhere. I'm not even sure if he has a license or even a legitimate business. STAY AWAY!!!!
