Dishwasher totally stopped working. No lights, no action. I needed to get it working right away. One shop I called suggested that the thermal switch might be bad. I removed covers and controller to access the thermal switch, but found it was OK. Disconnected the door switch and tested it; not working. Tried to remove it but could not because it takes a special tool, and also I was not able to see how to remove the door switch assembly.
I gave up that approach and called a few local shops from Angie's List. Foster's was the first one that could come the same afternoon. The repair technician came on time and spent roughly half an hour on the job. I have no complaints about his work.
The labor charge was $135, which I think was high, considering that I had already partially disassembled the unit and diagnosed the problem.
I would definitely use this provider again, based on nearness to my home and responsiveness, but would compare prices next time.

Foster's came to fix the hinge on my refrigerator door.  They seemed great; they came on time, examined the fridge, seemed to know what to do.  They ordered a part and then came back a couple of weeks later.  The serviceman noticed that the seal on the door was old.  So he replaced it, even though it had been working fine. The door wasn't sealing all the way after he put the new one on (it used to seal up so tight it would make that nice vacuum sound), but he told me not to worry, the new seal just had to conform to the door shape and then it would be ok.  He said to wait a few weeks.  A few weeks later, the door still wasn't sealing and the refrigerator contents were sweating.  It took me a couple of months to call Foster's back (I work full time); when I did, they told me they'd have to charge me to come out.  I explained that they had, in fact, created the problem I was calling about and made my fridge less functional than it had been when I originally called them.  Plus, I had waited, as the serviceman recommended, to see if the seal would conform, so that time should have been taken off the 90 day service guarantee.  They told me they would still have to charge.   This is just terrible customer service.

It went bad just before Thanksgiving. I was very anxious and they did a great job, and were able to do the work quickly.

***DO NOT use this company. They are dishonest and refuse to make a situation right. They have had 7 complaints against them in the last 36 months.**** Fosters came out and fixed our washer 45 days ago and 40 days after fixing the washer the washer stopped working again. They told me it was going to be another $45 dollar on top of the $260 I had spent less then 40 days before. After speaking with the office manager and finally the owner, he agreed to come out. Vladimir was at my house for about 5 mins before calling me in to show me that it was an electrical issue and I needed to call an electrician. We called an electrician who said it is possible that the wiring could have caused the problem but it most likely caused the problem the first time and they should have told us at that time of the problem. We called Fosters back, left 2 messages with no response. When I finally spoke to Vladimir, through his office manager, he said he was not going to come out. I found out that his son who came out the first time was not experienced and was just starting his role as a repair man, he could have easily mis-diagnosed the problem. I called Maytag directly to try and get some resolution to the situation and spoke to Katie F. She called Fosters to get some resolution and during her call she was informed that Fosters had been out to our house in 2007 (before we owned the house/washer) for the same problem. They knew that was the problem but instead of telling us the first time, they waited until it happened again and are trying to re-charge us. Vladimir was able to diagnose the problem within mins of being at our house because he knew that was the problem. Now they refuse to fix the washer and are not going to replace the part. Horrible customer service.
