Excellent. John Tryon responded to our request for a quote and came to our house within 24 hours of being contacted. Within one week, two of Suntrek's employees came out, dismantled the old solar panels and installed the new ones. First time they fired up the solar, it worked!

They were very professional.  They gave me all the information I needed to make a decision and what I needed to do, what I didn’t and what options were better than others.  I went to three different companies for price comparison, they were right in the middle, and their pricing was very competitive.  The lowest bid I got was $3900, Suntrek was $4000 and another company was $5200, so they were very close to the lowest bid.  The quality is terrific and everything has been great since then.  They did a great job and they cleaned up after themselves.  They came when they said they were going to come surprisingly for a contractor.

The sales rep, Alex, came out and did an estimate. He was nice and I agreed to the project.  He started work and reassured me along the way. I am disabled and was not able to look on the roof to check the work, but I trusted that they were doing the job right. When it was completed, they were having difficulty with the DWP coming out to do the final inspection. The owner of Suntrek called me and told me that I had to pay the final balance. I said the DWP hasn't done the final inspection, but he said that the DWP was a horrible company to work with and mine was just a small job compared to larger jobs he has done. He said the DWP was my problem and that I had to pay him right away or he would take me to court. Luckily I got enough nerve to say that I would not pay him until the final inspection. Shortly after, there was a leak after a rainstorm. I called Suntrek and said there was a hole in the shingles. They said they would pay for repairs. But then they decided it was a hole made by a boot and they weren't going to cover any costs. They talked to the roofer that I had hired to assess the leak damage, and they eventually paid $300 when that roofer said the hole was from a pole used when doing roof work. My son was looking into a wiring problem and had an HVAC guy look at it with him. They found that the job that Suntrek did was for a tile roof, not a shingled roof! We had video proof of this, and showed it to Suntrek. They corrected the angle of the panels that was never right and put the right system in for my shingled roof. A few weeks later, however, there was a panel hanging off of the side of my house! They put it back up, but they had to come back again because the wires weren't bolted down properly. They never cleaned up on top of my roof, either.

Visit to our property for solar estimate for the pool. Arrived one hour late. Also arrived late for homeowners association meeting to present his bid. Increased price by $800 after original bid. Initially fast responses to my email questions. Later in process either slow or no response at all. We decided to look at other bids. No final decision yet.

I requested bids from five solar pool heater contractors, receiving three bids ranging from $4000 to $5200.  I used a spreadsheet to compare what each bidder was offering, compared to what I asked for.  I had to call each bidder for missing information.
Each solar panel manufacturer uses different plastic/rubber materials for the pipe and the panels, and different methods to attach the parts to each other and then the assembly to the roof.  Make sure you understand how it is all put together (that's where the leaks running off the edge of your roof will come from) and how it attaches to your roof (that's where the leak into your house may come from).  The various materials were bewildering, and you just have to assume the manufacturers know what they are doing and that it will stand up to years in the sun.
There are separate warranties for the panels (from manufacturer) and for the installation (from the installer).  Can't hurt to get a couple of spare parts if they are available (clamps, gaskets, etc.).
Get up on the roof and take lots of photos.  Pay attention when they show you how to use the system, and any routine maintenance required.

It was very good. The cost estimate was extremely reasonable. Their work was very well done. They were on time and the product works really well. They did a good job at cleaning up after themselves.

The original company, Poco Solar, that installed the solar panels didn't have any appointments until 3 weeks later. Suntrek was able to schedule an appointment the next day to fix the problem. I felt that was worth the $130 minimum service charge. The repairman gave us a variety of options of different costs, from completely replacing the automatic temperature control systems to replacing the system with a much cheaper manual valve that met our needs instead. In addition, when the repairman discovered the system had a leak after replacing the valve, he spent an additional hour (without any additional charge) to replace most of the pipes surrounding the valve to ensure the system had no leaks.

I spoke with two companies about our job. Suntrek Industries was fantastic. They were flexible in working with us so that the panels would not be visible and did a great job with installation and clean up. They were very committed to making sure we were satisfied with the work done and, as part of the job, replaced our old pump with a more powerful model that would keep our waterfalls running well. My one complaint was that they didn't dig the trench quite deep enough so that the stepping stones on top of them could easily be replaced. We were able to build up the earth a bit to compensate.

THIS IS A GREAT COMPANY TO WORK WITH. THE SALESMAN WAS STRAIGHT FORWARD, PROVIDED INFORMATION AND A COMPETITIVE PRICE. THE INSTALLATION WAS DONE AS SCHEDULED WITHOUT A HITCH. THEY EVEN PAINTED THE PIPES TO MATCH THE HOUSE AND TRIM COLORS. AFTER INSTALLATION THEY SCHEDULED A TIME TO EXPLAIN THE SYSTEM OPERATION. OUR JOB WAS DONE WELL, PRICED BELOW COMPETITION AND THE SERVICE IS RELIABLE. WE ARE VERY HAPPY WITH THE PRODUCT AND CAN'T BELIEVE HOW WELL IT HEATS THE POOL AND SPA.
