To make a long story short, they are the most unprofessional people I’ve ever worked with. And I have done several re- models in my life. They employ undocumented workers who are unskilled in any trade. The workers needed to be supervised in every stage to make sure the work was done correctly. Terrible workmanship and cheap material use to increase their profit. They did it abide by the contract and refused to produce an itemized invoice from the get go which should have been a red flag.. They were fired in the middle of the project and have refused to refund the amount due. No permits were pulled. Their sales person used a different company on the contract.

Ami showed up immediately and provided a good estaimate and began work within a few days. The price was fair, had the work been done properly. There were a few very frustrating issues. 1) they tore down the walls, but did not bother to put in new electrical wiring. Had to ask exra for that??!. 2) The sink pipes were not done properly so we now have "stinky pipes" when running the water. 3) Very expensive floor tile was laid on bumpy surface and had to be re-done. But we had to buy new tile ourselves $1,000 extra for me, and complained that I caused a delay. Oh boy. 4) Finishing job was so bad I had to completely re-sand the walls myself and paint them. 5) A few months after the shower glass was installed, all the tiles behind the mounts from floor to ceilign cracked.

We moved into our house in Irvine about 4 years ago. The house was built back in 2001 and was never renovated, so we wanted to remodel our master bathroom and the kitchen (that was still having the original standard counter-top and cabinets). We collected quote from few local builders and once we met Ami there was immediate connection. Ami is super talent designer and professionalize in what he do, he show us many examples and provide amazing tips that caused the project to stay within our budget. Ami wasn't the cheapest and he wasn't the most expensive either, but regardless we knew all along that we want him to conduct our project.
Finally, you can't go wrong with using this company and Ami in specific. He is a reliable and talent contractor and both my wife and I are glad that we choose him.

Mr. Build came out and quickly helped me turn my vision into a reality. Workers were onsite everyday, and so was the project manager Jacob. Workers always completed the task that need to be completed set forth for that particular day/ Jacob always kept me involved in the project, and always encouraged me to ask questions. I am extremely happy with the equality of work that was done. And not to mention how fast the job was completed. Even with some changes that I had decided to do half way into the project. I would definitely recommend Mr.Build to friends and family , and I would absolutely hire them to do any other home remodeling projects I may have in the future.

I had a wonderful experience. It was great. They were good. A young man named Jacob who was the person who facilitated everything and he was just wonderful. We had a previous contractor and we had problems with them. But with Jacob, there were no problems encountered. They used perfect materials. Jacob was helpful and he walked us through everything. All of the people who did the work were wonderful, they cleaned up after themselves all the time. It was just perfect. We walked out when they did the pouring of the wall, we went away for a while so we would not be bothered by the things. It was just really a wonderful experience and I don’t there was anything that we had problems with that at all.

For me, my top priorities in any home improvement contractors are: 1. being prompt 2. being committed and 3. being able to deliver quality work on time as promised. Being Prompt- the crew was at my house everyday early morning between 7-8 am and left around 4-5 pm. If there was any day to wait for a process to be done or materials, etc then I would get notified on the time they will show up. This was helpful especially when you have a busy work schedule on top of this project so you can plan for the day and not waste any time waiting around. 2. Being Committed - the crew shows commitment in getting the work done. They would stay however long it takes to finish a certain process for that day. The PM would be at my house every day to check on status and ensure everything was on schedule. We would be in touch everyday either via call or text whenever I have questions even if it was after normal business hours. It was also a great experience to go with the PM to shop for all my materials especially I needed advice on many things since it was my first time (i.e. vanity, tubs, shower fixtures, tiles, etc.). I told the PM how I envision my bathrooms to come out and he was able to shop with me in getting that look. 3. Being able to deliver quality work in 2 weeks per bathroom - The crew was able to finish in 2 weeks per bathroom. There was no delay in the process at all. I had one bathroom with the tub and shower and the 2nd bathroom with the shower alone. Both bathrooms had different designs/look and they turned out great. I've gotten many compliments from my friends and family. My next potential project is kitchen remodeling and without a doubt I would know who to contact. :)

Overall, they were fine, but if I had to do it all over again, I'd go with a company that SPECIALIZES in fences. Job was adequate on the fence, but I had to intervene a few times (redo a placement so the width meets with code, lower handrailing, etc.) so that the job was done correctly. Also, the quality of the wood they used was not the best, and we've had a lot of splitting - plus, we did board-on-board, and they didn't stain the entire board before putting it up.

The remodeling project went very well. Jacob, the project manager, did an outstanding job. The estimate was received with in a couple of days. Jacob always returned calls promptly. If he was running late for an appointment always called. The job was done on time without any extra charges. Jacob was very helpful with the design and implementation and went with us to choose the granite and back splash. If there was any problem or change his answer was always "no problem" and he took care of it. The project took about four weeks. There were some mistakes but they were always corrected. There was someone working on the project every day except Sunday. The workers were very polite and friendly and left the job site clean every day.

The process started well. Mr. Build provided a schedule of payments based on their progress that was well-documented and easily understood. We had also requested that we get the structure permitted, so Mr. Build took care of that for us as well. Things went well as long as permits were needing to be approved, but once all the permits were approved, it became more difficult to work with them. It seemed like they may have underbid the project and wanted to cut corners, and always do the "quick & dirty" option. Some examples: (1) We bought a wall-mount faucet for the bathroom, but they didn't install it correctly and refused to fix it properly, instead they "jury-rigged" it to make it work and it looked pretty bad and didn't really work properly. Basically we had to have it replaced by another contractor after Mr. Build was gone. (2) We had a split unit (heating + A/C) that we ordered separately and Mr. Build said they could install without any problem. It seemed they were scratching their heads trying to figure out how it worked, so we offered (twice) to bring in a Heating & A/C specialist to do it, but Mr. Build insisted they could do the job. Ultimately, they couldn't, and in the process kinked the copper coolant tubing (and refused to reimburse us for the replacement), so we had to bring in a Heating & AC specialist to do the work. (3)Installed a mirror in the bathroom (again, the "quick & dirty" method), and 2 days later it fell off the wall and broke, breaking a towel rack in the process (thankfully nobody was in the bathroom at the time) - they refused to replace the mirror, stating they didn't know why it fell off, essentially blaming us. (4)Installed rain gutters, but when I decided to test them, the water ran off the roof, in between the fascia board and the gutters - essentially not functional - also they used the cheapest plastic/vinyl rain gutters you can possibly find....in the end they fixed it by extending the roof shingles farther out and used silicone caulking to seal the gap which seemed to fix it. (5) When they installed the bamboo floors, they wanted to charge us something like $300 just for the MDF moulding(!) This is something that they sell at some of the home improvement stores for like $50! So, while things seems to go well at the beginning of the job, the problems at the end ruined what we thought was a good relationship w/Mr. Build.

HAD WE FOUND OUT THAT THERE WERE ANY ISSUES THAT WERE NOT TO YOUR LIKENESS, HE WOULD HAVE BEEN FIRED RIGHT THERE AND THEN, AND WE WOULD HAVE COMPLETED THE WORK WITH ANOTHER PROJECT MANAGER TO YOUR SATISFACTION. MR. BUILD HAS BEEN CONDUCTING BUSINESS IN CALIFORNIA FOR OVER 30 YEARS NOW AND HAS NEVER LEFT AN UNSATISFIED CLIENT. WE SINCERELY APOLOGIZE FOR THE INCONVENIENCE YOU HAVE SUFFERED. The wiring work is great. I would say that they did an average to poor job on the clean up and patch work. I thought the workers were friendly and easy to get along with. I do not care to discuss the price. Let s just say it was average. I am not sure if I would use this company again. I d say 70/30; 70% yes to a 30% no. It would depend on the job.

We were very pleased with all of the work done in our home by Mr. David Asulin and his company, Mr. Build Construction. Mr. Asulin was a pleasure to work with at all stages of the job. He always made us feel completely comfortable with asking any questions about the work and the process. We had not done any work with a contractor before this and had concerns due to horror stories that we all have heard. David Asulin of Mr. Build Construction was recommended by a professional colleague of ours, and was as wonderful and reliable as the person had stated. He proved to be completely professional with an outstanding work ethic. What he said would be done was done within the time frame given. We were never told it would cost more than stated (unless we changed the plans) and his calm demeanor was priceless for us. Our home is beautifully remodeled to our great delight thanks to Mr. Build Construction.
