 + -1 moreWe first purchased motorized cellular shades for the windows in our living room. The remote control and remote timer were needed because we didn't want long cords hanging 18 feet from the high windows. We decided to use Fashion Interiors because they worked with the electrician who had to install all the electrical apparatus to make the shades work. The installer, Eli, did a fantastic job after the electrical work was completed. He even came back a few months later to fix the remote control that not working properly. Next, we had custom plantation shutters installed in the 2nd floor rooms. Installation was accomplished by the same wonderful installer, Eli. Based on the good results of the 2nd floor shutters, we decided to have shutters installed on the entire first floor. Fashion Interiors provided the same marvelous installer, Eli, to complete the job. He is the best!

 + -1 moreA truly great experience from start to finish. I wanted Hunter Douglas (HD) even though I have a limited budget for window treatments at my new home. I went out and interviewed all the Gallery dealers and more in my area. All of them were good, but Fashion Interiors (FI), being in the exclusive HD Centurion Club Program, really stood out. Specifically, I worked with three individuals from FI: Angie, Michele, and Eli. Angie the showroom manager introduced me to HD products at the Irvine showroom and helped me focus on products within my price range. She also was my main point of contact throughout the process for logistic questions and coordinated all my appointments. Michele the designer brought samples to my in-home consultation, helped me finalize my choices, and handled both the inital measure and estimate. This was not an easy task because I chose many different products for my new house. Eli the senior technician patiently addressed all my installation questions and requests, did both the final measure and the installation himself. I am thankful that Angie, Michele, and Eli spent countless hours with me despite my limited budget and worked together as a team. They were prompt, friendly, knowledgeable, and punctual. They cared deeply about the products/services they offer and they valued my inputs. All three paid great attention to detail; as a matter of fact, FI was the only dealer I interviewed that did measurement twice to ensure zero mistakes during ordering. Pricing-wise I was also satisified; FI's quote was fair to start with and they later price matched the lowest bid to earn my business. Although wait time was longer than originally estimated, I understood because HD was overflowed with manufacturing orders during the holidays and Angie kep me informed the whole time. During installation a few of the blinds were discovered to be manufactured incorrectly, FI made it a top priority and replaced the blinds within a couple weeks. Now with new HD window treatments, my beatiful new home truly feels like a real home. FI met all my window treatment needs and exceeded my expectations. Rarely do experiences with home improvement go the way you want them to, but in this case they really did! I highly recommend Fashion Interiors.

 + -1 moreI went to its shop after confirming its hours. The store was open but I was completely ignored. There was not even a "hello" from anyone. I looked around and waited. Still no one acknowledged me. I figured they may only speak to you by appointment so I went ahead and made one. When I showed up to the appointment, again, no one even said hi. I had to tell them I had an appointment. I was told that was probably not correct. Upon checking, I do indeed have an appointment, but not with a designer. While the person I was meeting eventually apologized for the miscommunication, she started off by saying "Maybe they gave you an appointment because you were very persistent." I assured her that I was not. I simply called and asked whether there was any available appointment for window treatment. Because she was already working with someone else, I had to wait. When we were finally able to speak, I found out information taken down over the phone was simply incorrect. I do give credit to this person in the store for being knowledgable even though she was not a designer. I made an in-home appointment with a designer based on her recommendation. The designer showed up early so I thought it was a good sign and things will turn around. However, he really isn't much of a designer at all. He looked at what I said I might want back in the store, took some measurement, showed me couple fabrics and was gone within 1/2 hour. He said he would send estimate in a few days. The estimate was sent after the time he agreed. It is also more expensive (for the identical product) than the other company I started working with because I have lost faith in this one. Update: This company did contact me a few times to follow up after reading my review on Angie's List as it stated. I was told, as in the response, that my house was not ready for window coverings when the designer was there. However, I know I am not the only person who attempts to select window coverings before the work on the house is complete. I did not require an interior designer but I did want to know what my options. I would have appreciated being shown colors and textures of the window coverings. I would have appreciated being told what light filtering options there are. While the house was still being remodeled, the relevant design decisions (such as overall color schemes) were already made by the time I had the appointment with the designer. I did not wish to discuss selections with this company not so much because I am "still not ready" but that I am not sure I would like to commit more time with all the issues encountered, not only in terms of "design" but since the very beginning.

 + 0 moreOverall the process went very well, from initial contact to install. We are still waiting on one window covering and Josh wants to come back and do some finishing touches on some other windows. I would definitely recommend them and use them again.
Description of Work: We moved into a new home in Huntington Beach. We purchased window coverings for all the windows in the home. We called in mid February when we were close to closing. It is new construction, so Terri met me at the home site. We went over all the options and I decided on shutters for the majority of the windows with a few draperies and some with roll down sun shades. A date was set to meet a gain for a final measurement. I was given a rough "guesstimate" on the pricing with the exact pricing to come in a few days by e-mail once all the final measurements and materials were plugged in. The guesstimate was pretty close to the exact price quote, which was good, considering it was a large job with 35 windows to cover. We decided to use ISD. I did not get competitive prices, but from previous experience I felt the prices were within range of what I had paid on previous homes. At the final measurement, Josh and Terri both came for the appointment. They were on time and professional. We were having some trouble with our closing and ISD was perfectly willing to work with us on processing the credit card order. We were having trouble with closing on the house so we did not want to have a large CC charge until after we closed. We decided to only run through the charges on the "specialty" window coverings that would take the longest to have made. We would run the majority of the standard size windows with shutters after our closing. With any luck all would be ready for install at the same time. Terri and I met one more time for coffee and to go over the final order. We confirmed all the fabric choices, sun shade choices and shutter frames/colors. From that point everything went smoothly. We closed on our home a few weeks later. The majority of the window covering were ready a few weeks after that. We were told the standard shutters would take 2 - 3 weeks, the sun shades 2 - 3 weeks, the draperies 4 - 5 weeks, and one specially made large window would take about 2 months. The window coverings were ready on the "long" end of those time ranges. We are still waiting on the specialty window at this point, Josh called to make the first appointment for the shutter installation. That went very well. It took 2 days for the shutters. Terri had recommended the Hunter Douglas shutters that have the invisible rod to open and close them. And you can tilt them 1/2 and 1//2. That is the top and bottom half can open and close independently. we are very happy with these shutters. They look great and operate great. They look great from the outside without the center rod. Josh is a perfectionist. We had a few windows with minor problems. You can be assured he will keep working on it until he gets it just right. Even if he needs to reorder the covering or just a part. He didn't like the way the slider/shutter was operating, so he ordered an additional build-out so it would operate more smoothly. He will come back time after time until it is right. The next item for install was the roll down sun shades on a large shutter. We decided to have them motorized too. Josh came for that install too. One of the shades was damaged in the shipping. Josh reordered without a problem and came back a week later to finish the install. We were so happy with the way they looked, I ordered the other sliding window to have the same roll down shades. (This was the only window I didn't order with the original order. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do on this slider.) As of yesterday, all of these roll down shades are in and look wonderful. Josh did notice that one of the "centers" is off center on one of our sliders. He didn't like that the side selvages on the slider were not exact. If he did make the sides exact, then the center was off "center." He decided he was going to reorder a new shade because it was off just a small amount. I told you he was a perfectionist. We also had two large sliders in bedrooms that we ordered black out draperies for. Those were installed last week. I am so happy with the color/fabric choice and the draperies. They look wonderful and hang beautifully. As of this writing, we are still waiting on the custom window shutter. This is a very large arched window with only the bottom edge being straight. I will add on to this review once that arrives. We were told t his would take approximately 2 months to arrive.

 + -1 moreThey did good work. I was advised to go with more of a blackout shade and I think I would have been better off to stay with the one that I originally planned. I'm not sure I should have followed their recommendation on that. They were prompt on the installation. I got one other quote.

 + -1 moreThe products they used were high quality and the installer attended to detail. Unfortunately it was sad how the sales person explained it. He presented products that eventually were not available so we kind of had a back and forth trying to find the right materials that were not expired or no longer available. My expectations were a little bit different. Overall, the final installation was really good. I would probably use them again because the original installer was really good and attentive. The quality of the Hunter Douglas shade was what we were looking for. Update on 6-16-2013. A small clip worth pennies that links the roller shad chain broke. They scheduled a service person to come out and repair it and provided extra clips for future use. There followup and service is quite good.
Description of Work: Fashion Interiors came out to install roller shades on 12/12/2013. Came back to fix a part on 06-14-2013.

 + 0 moreEverything was handled smoothly and professionally. As we decided on hardwired blinds, they even recommended an excellent electricians to perform the necessary electrical installation.
Description of Work: We needed window coverings on 6 windows to reduce glare and the generation of heat from the midday sun. The biggest problem was that four of the windows were higher than normal human reach. Fashion Interiors was able to show us blinds that could be remotely controlled. These blinds were installed and look beautiful.

Description of Work: I called Fashion Interiors for estimates on curtains. When the salesperson arrived, she looked carefully at my house and asked if I would prefer shutters. I thought that shutters were out of my price range. They weren't. Not only did she bend over backwards to make sure that I got the best price (before Hunter Douglas increased their prices the next week), but she was present for the measuring and made sure that I got exactly what i needed and wanted. I now have beautiful, high quality, life-time guarantee shutters for much less that I ever thought possible. I would use them again in a heartbeat for their service and exceptional quality.

 + 0 moreWent to the showroom. The saleswoman covered all aspects and options we were looking for. She came out to the house that day and measured the window openings and placed the order. Once the products came in a very courteous man came and installed the products.
Description of Work: Had two shades made and installed. One was a roman shade for a kitchen window and the second was a roller shade for a 6 ft sliding glass door. Both were exactly what we chose and look perfect.

Description of Work: I highly recommend this company. Starting with the showroom in Irvine, I realized that I was working with excellent taste. The availability of great choices at various price points was refreshing. I was greeted with great enthusiasm. The lady who assisted me was extremely knowledgable and had an excellent attitude. She explained the process in detail as far as their products and services. I inquired about their window treatments. She showed me a variety of samples at different price points. I was thoroughly impressed. My next set of questions involved the installation process. She answered all my questions and unlike many other places everything she told me was exactly accurate. Once I made my decision on the window treatment she helped me set up the delivery and installation date. The installation crew arrived ON TIME and were extremely professional. They were very respectful and installed my window treatment perfectly. After the completion of the job, to my surprise the owner of the company (Marjan) came to my house to personally inspect the job and answer any questions or concerns. She told me that she is readily available for any question or concerns that I may have. I was so impressed by the quality of the product and service, I decided to return for my upholstery and automated roller shades. Once again I received the same great quality of service at the showroom. The owner (Marjan) came over and personally helped me with my needs and made sure once again that I was satisfied with my window treatment. It was obvious that this lady takes pride in her business and quality that her company delivers. This is probably the longest review I have written but I just can't say enough about this company.

Description of Work: The professionalism AND the price were the driving factors for us. The designers helped with fabric selection and followed up with orders and back orders! Installer was fantastic, worked FAST and CLEAN. Follow up was exceptional, Sidney checked on us few times and made sure everything was working properly even a while after both Silhouettes and Window Coverings were installed. We even had them motorized everything; they did great. We enjoyed working with this company and strongly recommend them to any one of our friends.

Late shipment of one of the products delayed projected install 3 weeks, but they were proactive to schedule install once product arrived. Headrails on the roller shades were not what I expected, but I am pleased with the overall result.

 + 0 moreWe had an exceptional experience with this company. Their decorator provided helpful tips about the pros and cons of each type of window covering. She was also very helpful in choosing colors. They have a beautiful show room where you can look at all of the window covering options. The decorator also came to our home to make some recommendations and help choose colors. My experience with other window covering companies is that they were just "order takers". Fashion Interiors is full service and has competitive pricing. The measurements and installation went smoothly too. We will be using them again soon for curtains.
