It just seems that customers are satisfied with them.
I received a quote for a new Camry Hybrid and went to the dealership intending to purchase the vehicle and check to see if they wanted my car in trade-in. The car they quoted me had been previously sold and returned, It had a paint chip and only had one set of keys instead of two. They offered to reduce the price $300 because of the defects and tried to convince me I only needed one set of keys. I asked them to make me an offer for my 2009 Camry LE and everything went downhill from there. I waited a considerable length of time and my salesman came back with and offer of $6000. He explained to me that my car had and quot;frame damageand quot; and other body defects. I had just come from CarMax where they had inspected car and offered me $8000. There was no frame damage. I explained to the salesman that I could sell the car for $8000 and I was certain that there was no frame damage. (I am the original owner). He offered to split the difference which I declined. He asked me how much I wanted and I said I wanted a little more than $8000. My salesman went back and forth to his sales manager taking half hour chunks and leaving my wife and I sitting. Each time he returned he made me a similar offer in obfuscated terms. I finally told him to show me a breakdown of the deal with no trade in. He left to go to the sales manager. It should have taken him 5 minutes since we had agreed to a price on the new car. He left my wife and I sitting for another 20 minutes. I finally got disgusted and found him shooting the breeze with the sales manager. I told him I no longer wanted to purchase the car and asked for my keys. They quickly started explaining to me what a good deal they were offering until I angrily demanded my car keys and left in disgust. I have probably purchased 15 to new cars in my lifetime for me and my family. I have purchased at least 10 Toyotas. This was the worst example of disrespectful treatment I have ever experienced. In typical and quot;used car salesmanand quot; behavior they treated me like an ignoramus and had no respect for my time. I will never go back to purchase a car from this dealership and will recommend that my family and friends avoid it as well.
I left this dealership and drove to Toyota of Orange. I explained the vehicle I wanted and the price I was willing to pay. They had the identical vehicle in stock. It was brand new with no defects and two keys. They sold it to me for $250 less than the Autonation quote. I told them I would like them to make an offer on my current vehicle. I was asked how much I wanted. I explained that I had just left Autonation and was in no mood to haggle. I told them I wanted $8100 and would not dicker. If they didn't want my vehicle I would by the new one with no tradein. They took it for $8100.
Ironically I do have my vehicles maintained at this dealership (Autonation). Their maintenance department is excellent and I intend to continue to use it for maintenance only.
