I hired Andrew Rogers, owner of West Coast Gates, Inc. in December, 2017 to upgrade the gate on my newly purchased home. Before he could commence work my house was damaged by the Montecito Mudslide. For the past two years Andrew worked closely with my construction company to keep the gate working properly and planning the upgraded gate. We are now back in our house and enjoying the ease of managing our gate from our phone. Andrew was a pleasure to work with. Very professional and fair pricing.

Not well.

The remote keypad intermittently stops working.  It emits various beeping noises and the keypad goes dead.  This is not as urgent as it may seem, because we primarily use remote openers in our vehicles, and these still work.  Gary offered to replace the keypad at what he said was his cost of about $500.  I really don't feel like seeing his guys again.

I will not use this outfit again.

We learned of the company because they were working across the street. We knew the owner to be experienced in house construction, so we asked Gary Ovsiowitz, the owner, to give us an estimate. He showed up to meet us right away; got back with his estimate exactly when he said he would; helped us talk to our neighbor (because he had to use braces in our common wall); got the work done quickly and cleanly; and returned for follow-up promptly. Although the cost was higher than the estimate -- $4,000 vs. $3,000 -- the project was unusual and complicated by the driveway's uneven slope. We were OK with it.

THE GATES APPEARED TO BE WELL MADE AND HAVE RESISTED ANY SAG BUT THE WOOD ITSELF WAS VERY KNOTTY AND HAS POPPED OUT IN SEVERAL PLACES. CALLS TO THEM TO DEAL WITH THIS RESULTED IN A PRETTY RUSHED, SHODDY REPAIR JOB THAT HAS FURTHER DAMAGED THE WOOD. ALSO THE CLICKER ONLY OPENS THE GATE WHEN IT FEELS LIKE IT WHICH THEY WILL NOT ADJUST.
