I called Jose again because I had a great experience with him a few years ago when I had a bird's nest with hatchlings in my attic.  He had removed that nest and the hatchlings, coming back the next day to retrieve one hatchling that had escaped detection.

This time, the pest control company had come out to investigate noises coming from the attic.  The technician found a tear in one of the attic screens and evidence of a bird's nest.  I called Jose immediately and we set an appointment for the next morning.  Surprisingly, he remembered the previous time he had come to our property.

He was early for the appointment, which was great for me.  He could not access the nest from the attic, so did so from outside.  Jose cleared the nest and blocked access to the attic until my handyman can come next week to replace the screen.  Jose also advised me to have the handyman check all the screens and replace as needed to prevent a recurrence of this problem.

Jose is always pleasant to work with, and although I hope I have no need to hire him again, I would do so if needed.

I had animals living under the deck and house and creating flea issue.  I talked to Jose about his service.  He asked $95 for coming for an inspection and assessment.  Pending on the issue, he will provide a price quote.  Jose did the work without my presence and explained that there are raccoons living under my house and the mesh covering the hole into my house was broken.  He also email me a photo to show the hole which is under the deck and not easily accessible.  He charged $300 to get the animal out of there and covering the hole.  However, he did not call me back when he finished the job or send me a photo of his work.  I had to call him ask for details.
Jose performed the work without my presence.  We communicated via the phone or email.  In couple occasions, I had to call him since he did not response my email inquiry.  It will be nice that he can also provide evidence of his work since it is impossible for me to crawl under the deck to inspect his work.

SAVE YOUR MONEY...STAY AWAY!!!    Completely unprofessional.
Jose was consistently slow to return our calls, when he did come he said he was able to get two of the skunks to leave the hole and leave the property but one he could not get out so he set a trap.  The next morning the trap had a possum trapped.  We immediately called Jose to have it removed...he did show up until the next day (the poor animal sat in the roasting direct sun all day, finally my wife and I were so upset we actually let the possum out).  When he showed up he lied about having already come and let a possum out and the one we let our was a second one...he must have thought we were really naive.  During that same visit he again tried to get the 3rd skunk out, after half an hour he got a bag from his truck which he filled with a skunk carcass...I asked him what happened, he said he couldn't trap it so he had to kill it.  How?  By stabbing in the head with a stick...his words!!!
After all of this, three days ago the two original skunks returned and dug a new hole under our shed.  Have tried 3 times to contact Jose to return and relocate the skunks...no response.
Again, don't  waste your time or money with this guy!

I've had raccoons living in my attic, off and on, for years. A couple of years ago, I had a pest control company come out to trap one on my roof. They were able to get the raccoon, but the repair they did to the area the raccoon was entering my attic was not sturdy, and the raccoons pulled it apart and set up shop again.
I had Jose out for an inspection of the situation and he explored all areas of my roof. He advised me  some roof work was needed in two areas, and as soon as that was done he would return to set the trap.
To make a long story short, the roof was fixed and the entrance boarded up. But in the meantime the raccoons had apparently moved out. The trap was on the roof for 3 days, but no raccoon was trapped.
The trapping would have cost $375, but since there was no raccoon trapped, Jose did not charge me anything, even though he had to come out twice after the initial inspection.
Jose is extremely courteous, smart and cheerful. I would definitely call him again. Maybe for that skunk who seems to like it under my deck?

Response from The Critter Trapper
"Thank you for your kind words and the trust on my services. I am glad the raccoons moved out and you did not have to spend extra on the job. Best regards, Jose"

Jose arrived promptly and assessed the situation.  He quickly got under the house and placed the cat remains in a bag.  At no additional cost to us, he also disposed of the body.  He also disinfected and deodorized the area.
Jose was very cordial and we would highly recommend him.  Great service!

About 10 days before we to host 70+ people for an elaborate theme party celebrating our home's centennial birthday, we noticed a sour smell in the dining room and kitchen. It got worse and worse, so bad that we couldn't comfortably be anywhere in the house. Orkin, who we have a contract with for pest control, claimed there was nothing under the house and that maybe a dead rat was between the walls. He also recommended that we call someone who specializes in animal removal, because Orkin doesn't.
Desperate at 4:00PM the Tuesday before the party, I logged onto Angie's list and started searching. I called the Critter Trapper, who picked up immediately, and was able to diagnose over the phone that the smell was emanating from under the house. He said he could come by THAT NIGHT after he finished a job nearby, and quoted me $275. Yes and YES!
My husband met him at the house around 7:00PM, and by the time I got home from work around 8, he was gone and the smell had been reduced by at least 50%. In less than an hour, Jose identified the source (two decaying opossums under the house under the dining room- poor things), took a picture that he showed to my husband (spared me the details), removed the animals, disinfected the area, charged exactly what he quoted, and was on to the next job. I couldn't believe it, I was so thrilled!! It happened so quickly and efficiently, it felt like a superhero swooped in and saved the day.
I am so happy with his service, and this price was more than reasonable. Take a good look at his website- you'll see he means serious business! He is an expert in this field, so don't bother messing around with traditional pest control companies. THANK YOU JOSE!!!

I called Jose, the owner of The Critter Trapper, on 4-15-13 because we had been hearing constant cheeping at the corner of the family room for about 1 week.  We couldn't see a nest, but we thought the nest was built where the AC conduit was entering through the attic vent screen.  Jose made an appointment with me for the same day and arrived on time.  Unfortunately a bird had built a nest inside the attic, having accessed the space through a hole in the attic vent screen.  Jose removed the nest, then went into the attic and took away 1 abandoned sparrow chick and 1 dead sparrow chick.  He also put up a temporary barrier to prevent birds from entering the attic before the screen could be repaired.  Later that day, I heard cheeping again.  I went into the attic and saw another sparrow chick at the attic screen.  I attempted to reach the baby bird but could not.  I left a message for Jose, who returned my call. He came back on 4-16-13 and removed the baby bird.
I enjoyed working with Jose.  He was professional, friendly, knowledgable, and stood by his work.  I would not hesitate to use him again should I have problems with a wildlife infestation.

I had a skunk under the house (screen fell of and I didn't notice).  I called one company back in July.  The service provider was rude and I ended up with the problem again in December (happy holiday vacation!).  I have never had to contact any animal control companies before this time.  They seem expensive, so I had no idea what to expect.  Jose arrived on time, did a thorough inspection of the property to find any points where the animal could get in.  He set concrete around the area where the door that leads under the house is located.  It was dirt and the animal had scratched it's way in.  The critter was also entering and exiting near where the gas pipes enter the house.  He created one way doors and evicted the skunk (a big sucker).  He then placed a better door on the area that leads underneath the house.  He put a heavy metal piece around the gas pipes.
Because I explained that this was my second go round with a critter ridder and he didn't think the previous company had done a good job, he charged me what the previous company had charged me.  I would use him again and would hilghy recommend him.
Response from The Critter Trapper
"[member name removed] Thank you for your kind words. I am glad my expertise on evicting animals met or passed your expectations. As you experienced before with a prevous company, not all trapping companies knowledge about wildlife is equal. I am an specialist in my trade but I never will stop learning because each home and situation is different from each other and this fact create a new challenge every time I take a job. I make sure that every job is done right the very first time with the best materials available for a long lasting solution. The old saying "You get what you pay for" is very tru in this economy because cutting corners to cut on prices never ends in satisfactory results. Thank you again and best regards, Jose Luis Becerra The Critter Trapper"

I called Jose on a Monday night to ask him to come out ASAP because the raccoons were making a huge amount of noise for well over 2 hours straight. I was quite concerned that they might damage our clay tile roof or ceiling. He was willing to make a trip out at 9 PM, AT NO CHARGE, to help us deal with this matter. The racoons, fortunately, quieted down shortly thereafter, so Jose did not need to make the evening trip. However, I was quite impressed with his willingness to do so. He did come the next day, at our agreed-upon appointment time, and quickly and professionally handled the situation. I would not hesitate to highly recommend Jose and his company to anyone experiencing difficulties with "wild life."

We had been having problems with pigeons for a while now, we
had multiple companies come and check it out but none of them offered a
permanent solution with a reasonable price, they all involved us having to pay
more money for every visit that we needed later on. Others would just tell us
that they couldn?t help us solve the problem because there was no solution.  Until we called The Critter Trapper and spoke
to Jose, he then came out and checked the entire place out and gave us a
permanent solution for a reasonable price. What we liked about him and his
company was that they?re very straightforward with no secrets. He?s a great
guy, a lifesaver for sure. If it wasn?t for him we?d probably still be going
crazy everyday because of our pigeon problem. We couldn?t have possibly gone
with a better choice.
So if you ever need a guy to take care of uninvited creatures
I definitely recommend them, they will not disappoint you.
Response from The Critter Trapper
"Thank you for your kind words. Honesty is our priority. I do not want to turn any job into a revolving account. People needs permanent solutions, not a temporary fix. Knowing what to do comes from experience and experience comes only with time. I specialize in few animals and that makes easier to solve the problem related to them. If I do not solve the problem, I do not charge! That's how confident I am in my expertice, but I never, never underestimate any problem or situation, big or small."

He determined due to a ground squirrel and gopher problem that what I really needed was to get a owl house and a new sprinkler system.
Response from The Critter Trapper
"Thank you for your review. Installing an owl house will take care of rodents in a natural way instead of poisons that can kill pets and wildlife with secondary poisoning. Knowing all the alternatives and options available to solve a problem is key to be successful. This home is nested in the hills facing a canyon with acres and acres of natural forest with lots of oaks that the owls can perch on to look for prey. Luring them to this area will increase the numbers of predators that will take care of rodents without upsetting the ecosystem."

Jose arrived right on time to inspect my house.  Over the phone, before he came, he told me that there was no charge to come and inspect the house, and that he could not give me an estimate until he diagnosed the problem.  He spent 45 minutes crawling around under my very large hillside house, and ultimately concluded that we had no skunks in residence.  He determined that the source of the odor was a skunk's spraying outside, on the hillside.  Because of the unique configuration of the hillside construction, the air currents caused the odor to drift under the house where it was dissipating very, very slowly.  Despite my pleading, he refused to accept any payment, saying, "But I didn't do anything."  On the contrary, I insisted, his analysis gave us great relief and furthermore allowed us to avoid all of the other companies who wanted to come out and set traps without an inspection.  What else can I say?  I wish my doctors were as professional as Jose.

Excellent service in all respects.
Mr. Becerra responded immediately to my call and before quoting a price for the service, he made a point of letting me know that the County would pick up the animal at no charge if we moved it to the curb.
Even though I called in the afternoon, he scheduled the service for the same day, gave me a time-frame for his arrival and arrived exactly on schedule.
