I've hired them 5 times and they are always the best price. They always do perfect work. He is by far better than going with a big closet company.

It was an excellent, perfect, and wonderful work. The owner does the design and his assistant are the ones who installed but he is always there to supervise.

Mike answered the phone himself, set up an appointment with me and arrived at the scheduled time.  He looked at the space, questioned me about our clothes, shoes etc and them made a computer drawing right on the spot for what we wanted.  He is a friendly gut - very easy to talk with.  He listened to your needs and then made suggestions based on his experience.
The day of installation  Mike arrived with his assistant again on the promised day and on time
I can't believe how much storage room he managed to get in our space.  It looks wonderful and is completely functional.
It was a pleasure to work with "The Closet Guy".

Shoddy workmanship. And even worse behavior. I'm surprised to see this vendor here on Angie's list. I wouldn't have the quality of his work in my garage, no less in my living space. But then I would never do business with him again. I'm having to have the entire project demoed and completely redone by another vendor.
Response from The Closet Guy Inc
"Ms {MEMBER NAME REMOVED}l has failed to leave out details of what transpired. First was the material she chose. A pre-finished Maple plywood which in itself is a natural product. The finish that is applied by the plywood manufacture will make the veneers appear as different colors depending on how light hits the surface. Being a natural veneer, the color from one sheet to the next will be different. We were contracted to build a closet system behind closet doors. A system that consisted of panels, shelves and drawers, that were assembled in place. Backing was asked for which is a 1/4" material attached like paneling to the back wall of the closet. The panels and shelves are then attached to the wall with colored anchors. What Ms {MEMBER NAME REMOVED}l did was remove the materials we installed and had a cabinetmaker come in and build a completely different product. She had cabinetry made and the configuration we designed was replaced with something completely different. None of this was a surprise to {MEMBER NAME REMOVED} since she signed off on our contract which clearly states backing is wall paneling and as such gaps between the wall and the panels will be visible. She also was shown over 100 pictures that show how our system is constructed and as to what she could expect with the final product. She requested pre-finshed maple plywood because that was used before in 2 other closets. These 2 closets were in a darker room and a hallway with no direct sunlight, so the difference in veneer colors was much less apparent. The room we installed the system in was in the front of the house with direct sunlight. When I showed her with a sample, that the veneer on the sides matched what was in front and that the incoming light was causing the issue, she refused to acknowledge the veneers were in fact all close in color. The quality of our manufacturing is First rate. Installation quality is first rate. However you can not take bad material and make it look like quality material. Imported Pre-finished maple plywood is a cheap, imported product that is used when someone wants to save money. It is a low quality product and we have only used it 3 times in 14 years. When a client wants a quality clear maple finish we use quality veneer plywood and apply a clear finish ourselves. The design was approved and signed off on. The price was approved and signed off on. The expected flaws that come with a closet system were outlined and sign off on. {MEMBER NAME REMOVED} had multiple lower bids from other companies and I suggested she go with one of the other companies, but begged us to do the job. What I should have done was listen to the contractor working on the job as to what {MEMBER NAME REMOVED} was like and warned me to not do the work.. I normally pass on remarks made by other disgruntled workers on a job site. My experience has taught me that they stem from the contractor getting caught trying to pass off lower quality work than what was expected. My experience here proved me wrong on that theory. We strive to deliver the best we can and in 14 years I have never had an issue with someone telling us we tried to pass off shoddy materials or workman ship. Our clients will always receive what was expected and normally more than what was expected. {MEMBER NAME REMOVED} offered to not write any review about this, if we agreed to return all her monies and not go to court over this issue. That was her request, not ours. We did as she requested."
