McIntyre Pools & Spas Inc

I worked with Mike McIntyre, owner, and his son Ryan.  Both were very easy to work with and flexible as we negotiated the original contract.  I had gotten one more bid just for comparison purposes, but I felt completely at ease with Mike from the first meeting.  The other contractor sent out a sales rep rather than a principal of the company, which was a very important difference for me.  Mike took me to several sites where they had built pools with artificial rock waterfalls and I was impressed with the results.  We took two vacations during the demolition / construction phases, but everything went very smoothly.  They construction was very well planned and coordinated so that there was virtually no downtime and the project was completed in 3.5 months (exactly on schedule).  The contract was very detailed so that there were no miscommunications and whenever I had understood something differently than Mike, he was very accommodating.  We have received more positive input on the fabricated rock walls and waterfalls.  It is really difficult to tell the the boulders are not real.  The company that Mike uses is superb.  Mike was very consultive during the process.  When I wasn't completely sure of the rock coloring, the paver colors or even the tile on the BBQ Island, Mike would make recommendations which turned out perfect.  He has a very good eye for design and colors.  I believe the final product is the crowning jewel to our home and we are really enjoy using it.  
McIntyre Pools & Spas, Inc also provides pool servicing, which is very helpful since they understand all of the equipment and systems better than any pool service company would.  
The ONLY negative was the landscaper that MacIntyre recommended, Eugene Salgado, owner of PowerScape Inc.  In my opinion this company should not be selling or installing synthetic turf.  You can see most of the seams in the grass, it is turned in the wrong direction (yes this makes a difference), I'm not convinced that it is the turf that we chose because the grass is very sparse so that you can see through to the base.  The did not use enough infill so the grass is going to matt very badly.  The contractor was unwill and probably unable to correct the problems.  They were swapping out plants that I wanted that were not on their original list, but I could not tell the price differentials.  I believe they do a good job at landscaping and lighting, but should NOT be installing grass.  MacIntyre did not step in to help me with this even though I chose the company on their recommendation.  ALSO the grass was $10.00 a sq ft, vs $7.75 sq foot that other reputable, seasoned vendors had quoted.  I obviously did no make my decision based on cost.

After interviewing several different pool companies we chose McIntyre Pools and Spas. We initially selected this company because they have been in business for approximately 25 years, had a competitive bid, were a locally owned and operated company, and we were impressed with their representative, Jerry Perez, who seemed very knowledgeable and professional.
We feel that everything we contracted for was done expertly and with care for detail from design to completion. Mr. Perez did a great job with the design and placement of the pool, spa, water feature, fire pit, and hardscape. Mr. Perez monitored all aspects of the project to ensure quality. He always followed up with site visits and phone calls to ensure our understanding and satisfaction with the entire process. This company did an outstanding job design through completion.
Based on our experience with McIntyre Pools and Spas and their very knowledgeable and professional representative, Mr. Perez,
we would highly recommend them to anyone desiring a new pool or spa.
