Mr. Keith Reitman, owner of PC Surgeon LLC, talked my wife and I into purchasing a custom built computer from him. We were promised an above-average, speedy machine that we would not need to upgrade for quite some time. Mr. Reitman advertises a 3 year warranty on his machines- this is even printed on his business cards and magnets that he gives out. After 18 months I contacted Mr. Reitman regarding an upgrade to increase my RAM and to get hi-speed USB ports installed. I paid $320.00 for this upgrade, however Mr. Reitman never provided me with a receipt for this work detailing the work performed and explaining his warranty policy. I requested a receipt and he told me that he would e-mail me one. To this day he has never done so. Shortly after this upgrade my computer's hard-drive had some problems. I contacted Mr. Reitman about this issue and the fact that the hi-speed USB ports that he installed in my machine didn't work. Mr. Reitman informed me that my computer was no longer under warranty and that my machine was hopelessly obsolete and the only thing he would do for me was offer to build me a new machine for about $800. I showed him my receipt for the computer he build me and pointed out that I was within his advertised 3 year warranty period, but he told me that MY machine was for some reason only supplied with a 1 year warranty and that the warranty had expired. I asked him to show me where the warranty information was printed and he told me that it was a verbal warranty and that his word was his bond and beyond reproach. When I questioned his warranty policy we had a heated verbal exchange after which Mr. Reitman told me that I was no longer a client of his and stormed out of my house. When I tried to contact him via E-mail regarding my receipt and the issues I was having with my recent "upgrade", he replied that my e-mails were infected with viruses and he would no longer open them. I had to have my hard drive repaired at another shop for about $400.00 and I had to have the "upgrade" to my USB ports repaired at a cost of $102.00. When my hard drive was repaired, I lost all of my installed software including Microsoft Works. The shop that repaired my computer told me to request the key-codes for the programs that were on my computer before the repairs so that I could re-install them. I tried contact Mr. Reitman about these key codes for the software that was installed on the computer that he built for me but his reply to me was "stop smoking crack". Yes, this is a direct quote. PC Surgeon in an unprofessional, unorganized, amateur company that I cannot recommend to anyone.
