I can't recommend Stonebelt Cabinets highly enough. We called a few other companies - they all seemed professional enough - and Stonebelt was the lowest cost. We checked references and Stonebelt had three glowing ones. We were a little concerned because their price was lower, but the reviews were great so we went ahead with them. One of the references I checked with mentioned Stonebelt's great customer service. A door had been damaged a year or so after Stonebelt put it in. The customer called to find out the paint color, but Leo just came out and fixed it for them. The whole process went very smoothly and we are extremely satisfied with the result. After the preliminary photos and measurements for the estimate, they came out and took detailed measurements. Where there were some tricky "Z" shaped doors, they took one back to ensure that they could make it correctly. They gave us a selection of door styles to choose from, and matched the paint perfectly. About two weeks after taking the detailed measurements, they came back to install everything. It took three days total. The first day, Leo and a helper came out. First they put down thick paper from the front door through the kitchen to ensure that they wouldn't damage or mar the floor. Then they replaced the facing on the front of the cabinets - behind the doors. The original contractor had put on some kind of plastic tape that had yellowed, Leo replaced this throughout with laminate (formica), which is much better. (Some of the other contractors were going to use tape again.) Also he replaced the baseboards below all of the cabinets with laminate - really nice; they had started to show wear. As part of this they removed the double-oven and the microwave, so they could put in the front of the cabinet behind them. Very high quality work, instead of just going up to the edge of the ovens. Of course they hooked them up again fine. On the second day, Leo and two helpers came out, and they replaced the rest of the cabinet fronts and started to work on the drawers and cabinet fronts. We didn't have to remove the contents of the cabinets or drawers - they just worked around our stuff. Everything went very well. The slides on the drawer that holds our trash can had gotten worn, and I had a new mechanism to put in. I asked Leo how to do it, and he just put it in for me at no charge. Also he found that some of the MDF below our granite counter had gotten water damage. He showed me, to be sure that it was sealed correctly now, and replaced it with wood. Again, at no extra charge. The last day they finished up the drawer fronts and cabinets, and replaced the thermofoil crown moldings. I noticed that they had replaced the hinges in the cabinets. The original were pretty shoddy, and these were high-quality. This wasn't part of the estimate, so I asked Leo about it. He said that the originals were so bad that they would have been fighting them to get the cabinets to look line up right, and it was just better to replace them with good ones. It was really perfect work. There was nothing at all to complain about or improve on. They were professional, clean, low-cost, and did top-quality work. After they were done, they said to call them if there were any problems down the road. If you're thinking of getting cabinet work done, you really owe it to yourself to at least call Stonebelt for an estimate.
